Now on Huckabee, I think the real news is that he is a Pastor by trade. Much more in the symbolism than in the effectual value.

Right, ambassadors are bullshite mostly. It's a way to reward donors, friends and allies. It's a cushy government job with lots of galas and parties. Anyone that thinks this is a big deal, needs to research the kind of people who are currently our ambassadors.

Israel is not a 5 eyes partner and are not a big league intelligence partner in any sense of the word.

We DO NOT have advanced staging capabilities in Israel. Our primary staging areas are large airfields in Muslim countries such as Qatar, Turkey, Kuwait and Saudi. We have a stronger mil to mil relationship with Lebanon than we have with Israel, despite the BILLIONS in weapons deals and defense funding we give to Israel.
