Monica Lewinsky was at home and had her conversation illegally (against Maryland law) recorded when she told Linda Tripp about the blue dress. And Tripp was criminally charged.
So the "girlfriend" should be criminally charged? I agree.

I think it's unfortunate for black people to use the N word. However, it is absolutely NOT the same thing as a white person using it.

I didn't think people in New Hampshire used that word.

Until now Police Commissioner Robert Copeland's dream of owning an NBA franchise still seemed attainable.

I read it. You started a thread to ridicule Sam and you were even wrong in your assertion.

Jackie didn't "come out" in his senior season. People knew but he didn't come out.

People knew Liberace was gay but he never came out. In fact he won a lawsuit for slander against a paper that said he was gay.

Back then people didn't come out. In fact people were arrested
for being out. Police regularly raided gay bars and beat and arrested patrons. That's what started Stonewall in 1969.

No. Jackie wasn't "out". People around him may have known, like people around rock Hudson and Liberace knew. But if any gay man "came out" back then, his career was done. And it's beyond ridiculous to claim so. Anyone with a passing knowledge of that point in our history would know this.

When Ellen came out, a quarter century after Jackie, the whole nation shite a brick. She was on the cover of every magazine. It was beyond huge. And her show was canceled not long after. And she was the first!

And you think Jackie came out 25 years before that and was drafted! :rotflmao: had he dove that and been beaten and tied to a fence, he'd have gotten off easy during that period of American history.

You think other homosexuals would have been that angry with him to murder him in the same fashion gay men murdered Matthew Shepard?

Just think we could have had hate crime legislation decades earlier.

There were hate crimes back then. It was a crime for a man to have sex with a man, to wear women's clothing and to congregate in public places with those who do. I'd say those were hate crimes. And they were enforced.

What is worse, a person using the N word, or a President and Attorney General, bouth ****rdly in doing their sworn duty in enforcing the Constitution.

While I understand your intent, and agree with you that the laws were unreasonable, I do not necessarily attach hatred to actions when I can't possibly know the motivation of those involved. That's why I oppose the silly hate crime legislation we have today.

Is the only reason you don't call A.A.'s n-words is because of PC?

I don't call anyone AA, just like "AA's" don't call me eurotrash. We had a black dude in our office yesterday selling some cable equipment and we got to talking about race monikers - I told him that I never use AA....ever. And he said "good, b/c I don't call whitey European American or Mexican American"

2% of the people in Concord are black. If he feels that way about the President of the US, what kind of chance do they have to be treated fairly by him?

Edit: Ok it's Wolfeboro, not Concord, but there's still nearly 1,000 black people living there.

"Nearly 1,000"? There are about a dozen black residents in Wolfeboro, not including the students at the prep school. The summer population is 10-15 times greater than the year-round population and pays a high percentage of the property taxes. Many high-profile people, and when they return in a couple of weeks and express their concern about bad publicity for the town, I'm guessing this guy will either resign (elected official [unopposed] so he can't be easily removed) or he'll decide to apologize. I think it's a safe bet that even if he stays in his position, he won't run again when his term is up.

A couple of interesting things about the town:

--- There were 60 players at this week's NBA Combine in Chicago, and 5 of them played their prep basketball in Wolfeboro ! More than any high school or prep school in the country.(4 of the 5 are black). The school they played for has won the National Prep Championship 3 of the past 5 years. (Maybe the Tigers should be recruiting up this way.) There were six black players on this year's championship team.

--- If the name of the town sound familiar, it's where Mitt Romney has his summer home, and was often in the news in 2012 for that reason.

And no, I never hear anyone use the word up here (I'm 35 minutes from Wolfeboro).

You're right. My math was off. I used 0.16 for 16%. How black people can live there is beyond me. Haha.
