Thoughts on Trump wearing "military outfit"?

Thoughts on Trump wearing military garb? Eisenhower insisted on never wearing military uniform as POTUS. W wore it a handful of times (see Mission Accomplished). Obama wore a leather flight jacket while overseas, similarly to Clinton.

Clinton, Obama, and Trump are the only presidents without prior military experience before becoming POTUS, in modern times since Truman.

Thoughts on wearing Commander-In-Chief gear? Overall...as well as the comparison/difference for those with vs without military experience.

you sure about that?

ETA: Never mind. You said modern times. Missed that.

No problem with that hat and jacket. I don't really want to see any president in a dress uniform though even if they served. Seems a bit much.

Meh. He is the Commander in Chief. Whatever works for him.

ETA: You do realize that jacket was a gift from the whatever vessel he visited, right? Would kind of be hard to turn it down. Just saying.

I think that's mostly to do with the first half of the 20th century being such a shitshow

In all honesty, I don't love it but not because it's military.

One of the reasons TRUMP connected with so many people was that when he went to speak in their community, he was just Trump. He wore a solid tie and a suit and a MAGA hat and that's it. If you had had ANY career politician going to some of the backwoods places TRUMP went, they would have been decked out in cowboy boots and a Carhartt duck vest or some shite. Literally putting on a costume. TRUMP won my respect by not putting on some kind of folksy costume and act. Just being TRUMP. So that's why I didn't love it.

They're not wearing a uniform or putting on medals. Anyone can buy basically what they wear at any base gift shop.

Not an issue.

At least it's no flat brim.

I wear mine that low. That's how the damn sun gets blocked.

that nametape has "commander in chief" where the typical rank would go

entirely a non-issue, but see this fun thread about his "outfit" & speech yesterday

He might be wearing authorized uniform items, personalized and given to him as gifts ... but, he's not wearing a uniform.

Kim Jong Un wears a military outfit all the time. But he's actually a general. One of the youngest people ever promoted to that rank.

Well, seeing as how that's not a military uniform, I couldn't care less.

If he walked out in some dress blues, I think it'd be pretty tacky.

He's giving a speech, not playing outfield in Arizona.

Look, I'm not saying he needs to push it back to Gomer Pyle levels, but Jesus. That thing is damn near sitting on his fricking eyebrows.

Dear God.

He's wearing a hat and jacket with touristy sewed on patches for the carrier on which he made the speech.

They were probably presented to him by the crew.

You act like he is wearing a military uniform like Pinochet or something.

You are an idiot.
