There is almost nothing I agree with Obama on. I disagree with everything that he stands for and does.

Saying that, this is ridiculously blown out of proportion.

The childish and trivial nature of politics is on prime display in this thread.

Only in politics do people actually give a shite about this.

I honestly LOL'd at the half-assed salute. I guess they go through this multiple times every day so it becomes less meaningful. Reagan didn't even bother doing the salute at times, but yeah - Obama has to know people are going to rip him for shite like this, even if he's just acknowledging their existence. He's better off not doing a salute at all.

Obama is a civillian, btw.

In light of this information, it's clear that we can rank the presidents by how offensive their half arse salutes are/were.

Reagan- Major deduction points for any half arse or missed salutes because he's the one that started this dumb presidential tradition.

Dubya- As a former officer in the North Mexico Air National Guard, any half arse or missed salutes should count as a major deduction, however this is offset by the surprising number of zeroes throughout American military history up to the present day that half arse or outright miss salutes.

Obama- Completely free pass as his hatred of the military and all it stands for would preclude him from having a curiosity about or learning military customs and protocols.

You were apparently fine with me calling referring to Texas as North Mexico but this part is COMPLETELY OUT OF BOUNDS!!!

And we're done. Another one to ignore.

I'm sure someone of your intelligence absolutely must have the last word so I hand over the floor to you.

I simply asked what you were talking about. And you still have not answered. And you're still a douche.

I'm now convinced more that ever that the rabid hatred of Obama is racism...plain and simple.

I don't need a botched salute to know that Obama is the worst dumpster fire of a president ...ever! The Obama years will go down as the worst in American history. Not only is he a terrible presidenti....he's also a dick!

What a clown

That is disgusting....amd here I thought Barrack Obama was a genuine hero...I can't believe that the commander in chief of the military is out of uniform...why isn't he dressed up in his Idi Amin general outfit...it is very disrespectful to the marines for their commander in chief to be out of uniform....

Until Reagan started the practice (because it played well with "patriots") it was not done at all....Presidents didn't salute soldiers. I have been told by military people that anyone who is not in the military (exclduing retirees) should not be saluting anyone....that it denigrates the practice.

I would bet that if any of us had a camera up our arse 24 - 7 we would see all sorts of shite that looked bad. Of course when you become a politician that is part of the deal....

He's only 1/4 black, so that's only 25% of the rabid hatred of Obama. That's assuming you're correct, which you're not, as usual.

When all else fails play the race card...what would you consider the rabid hatred of Bush if he were black?

That's exactly what I'd expect. At this point, I don't think there's anything else he can do to lower the military's opinion of him.

I'm seeing that Ike did not salute at all once he became a civilian (president) and that it really was not common until Reagan started doing it

True history, or no?

I believe that's true, but I don't get your point as it regards this thread. IMHO, it would be much better for Barry to completely refrain from saluting instead of rendering a half-arse gesture like this. The guy's just got low class written all over him.
