Okay, so what should be the exact limit we allow someone to earn?
That’s the wrong question. The question is what is the bare minimum someone who is working full time should make.
Bezos’ answer like any good business owner is, “As little as I can fricking get away with?”
People kinda generally expect that if they are working full time in non-fast food level jobs they should be earning enough not to be in poverty. But that’s not where we are at in this country. And it is pissing people off.

They’re still waiting for the wealth to trickle down.

So the average wage for mil is more than boomers.
So there’s a phenomenon called “inflation.” It’s when the dollar loses value. So instead of everything costing $1 at the dollar store, now they cost $1.25. The goods are the same, but the value of the dollar decreased so $1 last year now equals $1.25 this year.
Median household income in the United States was $42,148 in the year 2000. Adjusted for inflation, that would equate to $75,148.27 today.

Republicans and Blackrock Democrats have something in common: they want us to own nothing and be happy about it.
That’s why they hate Trump.

Republicans want you to own nothing? Democrats are the opposite? Please expand.

So, these company’s don’t skip pay to illegals(no pay check), give them no holidays, no weekends off, no overtime, unsafe conditions, etc? What a crock of shite. Company’s always going with cheap labor with no benefits to maximize their profits and 3/4 vacation homes. Nice folks.

Reading this thread is very sad. We’re headed to a Radical Leftist Socialist Utopia. We haven’t done a good job of passing on Conservative Values on to our next Generation. Hopefully this doesn’t translate to the Voting Booth.

Big difference between “conservative values” and corporate feudalism. We are closer to the latter than the former.

The idiot ad agency that was the "creative agency" for the trannie Bud Light ad just sent it's head executives on an all expenses trip to some fesitval in Southern Frances (Cannes) with trips to other places as well. Celebrities, Yachts.
Then the bosses came back and fired 13 people because they want to "cut expenses". Earlier they fired 20% of their workers and cut the salaries of almost all the rest of them.
But no cuts to the millions those on top make.

Agreed. Employees just aren’t loyal anymore. A handshake and looking someone in the eye used to mean something.
You think companies are any better? If you don't "get it in writing" companies screw you all the time.

Yes it is very sad. And while I get the sentiment regarding wages not keeping pace with inflation, unions are not the answer. They simply aren’t. The way to increase wages is through economic growth. Unions are antithetical to economic growth.
And what’s really scary AF is that this board is 90-95% Trump supporters that are shockingly PRO-UNION. And if that truly is the case, there is no room for me in the party. It’s sort of a hard, red line. It’s akin to thinking that it is ok for an 8 yo boy to cut his pecker off.
Some things should be universally condemned.

Should I just be thankful for my job? Nevermind I or anyone in our department have gotten a raise in 4 years. Essentially we have taken a 10-15% paycut with inflation. Wish I could join a union

Just keep your head down, work hard, and you’ll be noticed and rewarded. That makes a difference in people with tenure. Can’t go in with a “chip on your shoulder”.
Or get a new job for a 25% raise and leave the other one high and dry.

You should read up on the history of labor in America. Unions have been front and center for a long time. American businesses have always had some kind of predatory aspect to them when it comes to workers as well....from child labor, company stores, strike busting, unfair wages, strip mining places and poisoning the water, fracking and poisoning the water, dumping toxic chemicals and poisoning the water, making entire towns unlivable. The reality is that unions are necessary form of the first amendment.
What is the downside to a union?
