Well, here is the result. My friend was dismissed from jury duty because they had more people than they needed.
Funniest moment:
Judge: "If you have lived outside of Bossier parish for at least the last year you are excused from duty.
Guy: "I spent 3 weeks in Memphis, Tenn last month."
Judge: "I hope you had a nice vacation but you are not excused."
The place cracked up.

OK, one of my golfing buddies is going into jury selection tomorrow. He really wants to be rejected but he doesn't know what to do. No one is gonna accept "I really want to play golf every day."
I came up with one comment he could make during voir dire... "I don't think anyone would be arrested unless they were guilty. So, I'm sure the defendant is guilty regardless of whatever evidence is presented."
Any other ideas? TIA.
He could do his civic duty instead.

You're behind the curve, Tuba. He did his civic duty. They didn't want him. And to make matters worse he couldn't join our foursome for golf today. He has termites and had to meet the pest control guy. Sometimes bad luck just happens.
BTW, shot my best round ever at Olde Oaks Today. Toughest course in Shreveport/Bossier. I was blasting my 8 iron 200 yards on second shots. How is your golf game going, Tuba?

People getting upset about others trying to get out of jury duty is ridiculous
Live your own fricking life and let others worry about what's best for them, the frick is wrong with you people

I'd actually like to serve at least once. The only time I was ever called was right during the middle of finals in grad school. They told me I would be rescheduled, and I was, but by then I no longer resided in the parish and was ineligible to serve.
I got summoned back in September, but right when I called the hotline the Friday beforehand, they announced I didn't have to go.
I'll admit I ed initially, but I do want to serve on one at some point

Talk a bunch of shite about jury nullification and how he absolutely believes in it.
