Knee wasn't from this "a-hole". Yes there are scabs when a tiny branch slaps you. It actually ends up like that because of the thin diameter. A bigger stick or belt would not have caused those tiny whip lines.

He whipped his son who hurt another brother. Too much ? Maybe. Child abuse? Losing his job? Jail? fricking stupid!
The guy is rick solid Christian who doesn't let his money exclude him from being front and center in his children's lives.

HE, alerted the mom, HE is the source. The doctor who reported it is a moron and now I'm positive the mother regrets ever going. I'm sure 2 hot baths later and there was nothing.

And I bet you a dollar that kid won't push his brother at dads house again!

Nice semantics. He wasn't whipped, he was slapped with a tiny branch.

Reports are that he disciplined this child more than others.

Does this include the child who he never met until he died?

Do rock solid Christians have multiple children from multiple mothers out of wedlock?

I am not going to argue the whippin' vs. no whippin' topic.

Y'all raise your kids as you see fit ... I shall do the same.

I will offer an opinion on the AD deal ... in my opinion ... and looking at those photos ... he crossed the line. ("the line" in my book)

In my opinion ... a 4-year-old should probably get nothing more than a few "swats" spankin' ... at most.

My wife and I have 4 sons ... we are in the business of raising men (real men, not Obamacare pajama boys) and business is damn good.

When they do wrong (as boys do from time to time) ... they know they will have to answer for it and be accountable.

Got new neighbors across the street who have 1 kid (age 6) and he is a terror. Yells, screams, throws fits, backtalks, sasses, doesn't listen, no manners, etc. Tells his parents to shut-up and such.

If they want to put up with that ... that is their business.

But, I already told the Dad ... if your kid is to hang out at our house, which he is welcome to do, then he will either get in line ... or, he will have to go home, because I am not whippin' a non-family child.

But, in our household ... the adults run things ... not the children.

If the kid has any awareness, you'd be right.

Some kids are fairly oblivious, though, and wonder why they get spanked when they act up. They don't make the connection between "Get told to stop doing something", "Do it anyway", "Get spanked".

Dwight Howard on line 1.

Dwight is/was a huge Holy Roller and knocked up a bunch of chicks while in Orlando.

Zach cannot tell childhood stories of being whipped. Zach never did anything wrong as a child. It became a great concern for my parents.

Mom: 'Zach, why don't you go out and get into some trouble like your friends?'

Me: 'Leave me alone, Mom, I'm studying.'

AMEN, The "time out", "everyone gets a trophy", "occupy wall street" generation never had a good arse whipping and this is what we get. My dad, grandparents and mother would all be in jail if this was an issue 40 years ago.

Just out of curiosity ... boys or girls or one of each? If one of each, which one is the older?

To the previous post ... kids are different.

My oldest son ... he is stubborn (like his momma). He will push the limit and then some.

At one time, my wife was also "against spanking" and such (regarding the kids, LOL )

Our 9 year old is now almost as big as her. I told her ... if you are going to not get run over by these boys ... you'd better toughen up.

The older boy will take a whippin' from her ... and then basically smirk in her face as if to say, "That all you got?"

Now ... the next one ... he will do ANYTHING to avoid a whippin' ... he hates it.

Kids are just different.

Boy and a girl, boy is older. He hasn't been in any trouble at school, and generally respects rules and boundaries. He's a momma's boy and is actually more defiant towards me than the wife. Defiant not really being the right word as he's not defiant in the least. He just reacts more to her scorn than mine. Girl is a chatty social butterfly and is a bit mischevious, but nothing too bad. Really only gets in "trouble" for talking at school. She reacts more to my scorn than the wife's.

At home, neither really does anything bad outside of normal kid stuff.

Maybe next time he will end up beating this kid to death like his other kid got beaten.

I'm sorry, but beating a 4 year old like an animal is total bullshite.
I'm willing to bet that if people saw a video of the beating that it would get a far bigger outcry and piss off more people than the Ray Rice hit a bitch video did.

After looking at the pics, I'd say he crossed the line. It's not the fact that the kid had welps and blood that bothered me, it's the sheer amount of welps and location that shows he crossed the line for me. It appears that he took the switch and flailed away like a mad man with no regard for location. He didn't count to 10. First rule when spanking a kid, is don't be angry when administering the punishment. Always settle down first or this WILL happen. Anger blinds.

He's a solid christian. I'm sure he wouldn't go wild and crazy hitting his cherished and loved kid.

lol at all the people who are all "praise God I got beat"

You still acted up, didn't you? One would think the beatings woulda had more of an effect. All beatings do us teach kids to try to hide the things they do better.

I'm at work and don't want to search for the pic. About how many whelps are on the kid? Someone was telling me they thought it was at least 15.

Agree 100%.

You cannot be angry. And ... you have to talk to your child both before and after ... at least that is what I do.

From what I can see ... AD crossed the line.

I can only speculate ... but I'm guessing that he felt bad about it at the time, and probably still does. I could be wrong, though ... I obviously don't know him.

you can spank your child, you just aren't allowed to whip your child.

its lazy parenting IMHO. fricking with a kids mind is way more effective, and a whipping hurts for a few minutes but doing things like taking away phones, or access to TV, makes the pain linger.

I was a bad kid and was spanked often...the marks on this child are over the top. No one should be whipped like he was.

you know he had a son who died last year and he only met him like a month before? This guy has multiple kids with multiple women and beats them to the point that the authorities are notified, but yeah, he's a rock solid Christian.

I got my arse torn up when I was about 9 for telling my dad to shut in a joking manner.

To this day I've never told him to shut up again. I firmly believe in the power of a good spanking. It's time tested.
