The International Association of Police Chiefs this week urged the Trump administration not to punish jurisdictions that don't honor all requests from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The association said "[S]tate and local law enforcement agencies depend on the cooperation of immigrants, legal or not, in solving a wide array of crimes" and that penalizing sanctuary cities is counter-productive.
I am so sick of hearing that police depend on illegal immigrants in solving crimes. I am 43 years old and I have never been asked to help solve a crime. Why is that? Because I am not around crime. If the illegals weren't around criminals, they would not be needed either. Such a weak excuse.

You're married in one state but not the next?
You have the right to carry concealed in one state but maybe not the neighboring state.
Next dumb question.
Or now you are for national right to carry law.

Makes sense because the dems argued the same the first time they wanted to prevent the Fed gov from taking their "help" away.

Now just how in the hell would that work? You're married in one state but not the next?
I know, right? That would be as dumb as being deported in one state but not another. Oh, wait...that was the point.

A lot more people are getting deported right now than just violent criminals. It does not help anyone when families are getting ripped apart.
Good
Helps realize laws are to be followed

It's amazing to see how quickly the left is opposing centralized power, and championing not only state rights, but individual municipalities. What a shocking turn of events. The left is so scrambled in ideology they have no idea what it is they stand for.

I don't. What are you talking about? I am against what he is doing right now. A lot more people are getting deported right now than just violent criminals. It does not help anyone when families are getting ripped apart.
And it doesn't help the U.S. when it appears soft on illegal immigration. What message does it send to others that are considering coming here illegally when we allow them to stay because they spit out babies while they were here?

At least NYC has an easy half million a day they can save by cutting all. NYPD security for Trump Tower above and beyond normal patrols.

Somewhat but the Left is militant in their rejection of State's rights.. have you forgotten the past eight years already

This has to end. Don't like the wall? Find a friendly judge!
Trump can't send those troops over there....friendly judge time!
Tax cuts? Nooooooooo way says the judge! It is past time that these liberal judges power was curbed they are trying to rule by black robe.

quote:I'm no lawyer, but that seems like a lame argument. One of the arguments we heard repeatedly in the fight for gay marriage was that states couldn't pass laws that violate federal law. Now it seems like the Left is arguing the opposite, that states CAN violate federal law if they really, really want to. Are you sure you want to travel down that road? Do you know how many states would do away with gay marriage if states were allowed to violate federal law?
The city of Seattle on Wednesday announced a federal lawsuit over the Trump administration's threat to withhold federal grants to so-called "sanctuary cities," citing the 10th Amendment that deals with states' rights.

Meh, this is no different than the Right screaming for small government except when they're against it.
This is not a State's rights issue. These are individual cities. I've never heard of cities' rights.

What does that have to do with illegal immigration.

Another typical liberal cherry picking stats. You obviously leave out the costs to tax payers huh.
Furthermore, go do some homework about illegals we pay for in our prison systems. You might be shocked about a law that allows felons the ability to claim what race they are as they see prison.
Regardless, this is all that is shown.

We all laugh at the stupidity of Seattle's argument but the scary thing is that these liberal circuit courts probably side with Seattle.

I gave redpilled stats. Illegal immigration costs our country $113 billion per year. That's all we need to know. They can't pay enough taxes to help close the gap on the losses.
