There part of the WSA (Weapons Storage Area). They are sometimes referred to as Igloos, which are basically heavily guarded and protected ammo storage facilities. They store any munitions that can be utilized by assets at that particular base. So weapons that can be loaded onto the B-52s, ammo for security forces troops etc.

Well there is a lot I can extrapolate from the positioning of the WSA, runway, perimeter security road and the fence line but I will leave that alone

And true...

The crappy area will be 5-30 miles from where it's ignited...
Then the surrounding areas will have to do without power or nothing working for months...

I hope you guys have radios stored in Farriday cages so you know which direction to walk out.

This is a special time for families stationed at Barksdale. For the first time ever the school board passed a rule that children of Barksdale personnel can send their kids to whichever school they choose. For decades kid living on base housing had to go to the worst school in Bossier.

Freedom of choice. It's a wonderful thing.

They have those at the Tucson airport as well (there's an ANG detachment stationed there). They're for weapons storage/assembly/maintenance.

Lackland has the most bunkers that i know of.

I wonder what is there? There are no planes on Lackland other than static displays. The SFS used to have (probably still have) their tech school there and they have to train all of the new Airmen on small arms. Kelly USA is close by but all I ever saw were C-5's flying in and out of there.

Nuclear fallout won't impact the fishing on the coast so not worried.

Lake Charles would probably be a big target too because of it's oil reserves.
