Nope. Because I don't believe the government has a right to control of life and death decisions.
I think there will still be terrible people who murder regardless of the death penalty enforcement.
I think the government gets enough of these cases wrong and the stakes are far too high with death penalty.

Can you equate monetary restitution with life?

You certainly can ascertain a base line disparity in how restitutions are handled, just as I pointed out. If anything this goes to how innocent life is not protected from predators to the extent we would protect other much lesser assets from predatory behavior. Why should we not punish murder much greater? Because honestly my focus is on protecting the potential victim through the stiffest of penalties aimed at the predator.

Are you against government-controlled or mandated "healthcare?" That is basically government control over life and death decisions.

So then the predator gets the first and last say in the death of the innocent victim knowing they can only be punished with a jail sentence at most? Furthermore, a jury of peers renders most death penalty verdicts with other options of punishment...not the government.

Yeah I've never been a big obamacare guy.
I'm not for a completely private system though either.

As opposed to now where murder is obsolete everywhere there is a death penalty?

Yet people are still having cases overturned and lives are being saved every year.
Is it worth it to execute someone vs life in jail knowing that you're going to kill innocent people who were wrongly accused?

I stand firm in my opposition to the death penalty because of those who were later deemed innocent of the crime have still been executed. But for the record, I do hope they beat him to death in prison

I would fully support the police putting that piece of shite down and planting a gun on him if need be.

Strawmen? I asked a question.

At least your argument is consistent then.

I'm anti-death penalty unless you have video evidence or DNA evidence... And well we have it

I'm a little late to the party, but no. I am pro-life. That includes being anti-death penalty, anti-war, anti-abortion, and anything else that would take human life.
These extreme types of situations do make it more difficult for me to be an advocate of my stances, though. Understandable. I am not without conflict.

I oppose Capital Punishment on three grounds:
1) It doesn't deter violent crime
2) It costs more for taxpayers in the long run
3) Our criminal justice system is ripe with errors because of juries and mistakes are often made.
That said, I don't lose any sleep when monsters like this are put down.

And with this, is it worth having the death penalty if even one innocent is put to death? For me, the answer is no.

I would prefer he be locked in a cell that has a sink so he can drink all the water he wants.
But dont give him a fricking crumb to eat. Let him starve. With adequate water, starvation can take a long time. The body slowly devours itself.
And it is cheap, does not cost anything but a few bucks for the water.
