Assuming this a-hole doesn't kill himself or the police take him out.

Of course, only after he has his day in court. I mean if anyone deserves it, it's this dude, right? Well, dudes like Bundy & Dahmer obviously did, but this frickface live streamed it. Will you make an exception for this guy?

PT anti-Death Penalty posters: Will you make an exception

A person's morality behind being for or against something doesn't change based on circumstances (or at least it shouldn't). They're either for or against the death penalty because they see it as either justified or immoral. If they give an exception for something like this, then the entire basis of them being against the death penalty is fraudulent.

You can apply this to all areas of debate, not just the death penalty

Devil's Island, with real devils.

I have not followed this close enough to know the laws of his state i.e., how to send him to hell.

horse whipping would be ideal. Delaware was the last state to have horsewhipping.

Being against the DP as an institution does not mean I don't think alot of people deserve to be punished by death for their crimes.

I've heard a lot of opposition to the death penalty is because of the incompetence of the state, which I can't argue with. Most state governments are incompetent and can't be trusted, I concede that. However, this case takes all the guesswork out of it.

Now, for people opposing the DP for moral or religious reasons, I respect that. Notice I didn't say political reasons.

My anti death penalty stance isn't based on morality.

I'll not shed a tear if this dude is executed.

This.

And I am not anti death penalty. This bastard killed a black grandpa. Good luck in the yard frickface with all those black inmates who had a grandpa as the only positive male role model.

I don't want to hear shite about his mental state though. fricker did way too many calculated things to be insane. Pure evil. I hope some dude puts on a strap on shank and rapes him with it.

Not really. I'm guessing many people base their ideologies on emotion rather than principle.

Did everyone want Ray Rice to go to jail before they saw the actual video of him knocking the hell out of his wife ? No. But goodness, when the video went viral, people were calling for his head.

Emotion over principle.

My only issue with the death penalty is that the offenders don't have to suffer the way many of their victims did.

So someone who ends the life of another innocent person, who most certainly was not looking to die, in cold blood right in front of everyone to see does not deserve at least the same fate in your opinion? No?

If someone steals $1,000 from someone and is caught, would you set the bar of punishment at a repayment of $200?

I do not believe all these posters who claim their stance won't change due to circumstances. Just don't!

I'm not super strong in my stances on the death penalty but have been leaning "anti" based on the broken justice system primarily

This guy would not be a big worry as clearly he did it...

But I have a hard time getting amped up for opening the door to the discussion still. Death penalty ok as long as on tape with clear hi-res documentation?

I'm fine letting him simply go to jail

The problem with the death penalty is the costs. You factor in the court cases with the death penalty on the table costs more. Then factor in the amount of time that each prisoner serves on death row, which is equal to a life sentence. Most states do not offer a legitimate life sentence but something like 20 to 25 years. After all that, you have the appeal cases. These cases cost a lot as well because these are basically mini-court cases. You get more appeals on death row of course than just serving regular prison time. Now there is some uncertainty on the drugs being effective or not. If you factor in all of that crap, the death penalty just cost too much to continue to conduct. Unless we get more efficient drugs and speed up the process then we need to just do away with the death penalty no matter how shitty their crimes are.
