Seems many of you are struggling with this. I have yet to see the government arrest anyone for expressing their opinion

DS, it really isn't clear where you were going with the OP.

Is your reference to hate speech?

Again, not remotely a legal standard re First Amendment violation. I'm seriously going to start posting a mini-lesson on 1st Amendment law to avoid confusion and fake law at the hands of fake legal scholars.

DS isn't capable of anything more than pedestrian arguments like this. All he can do is pick on low hanging fruit because he's not smart enough to have a debate about the real issue.

Being that most people understand and are down with this, I'm not sure what kind of a point you're trying to make here.

So you believe that the only way the government can violate free speech is if it arrests someone for expressing their opinion?

How is this applicable to your OP?

It's become painfully clear you don't understand how free speech can be violated by the government without having arrested anyone....

You seem to think that the 1st Amendment only means that the government cannot arrest you for exercising free speech but it has zero responsibility to actually protect your free speech rights. If a group of violent individuals threaten violence and mayhem to prevent my speech, and it would cost the government any money at all to protect me, then my 1st amendment rights must be forfeited.

Why do I pay taxes again?

No one is struggling with this, idiot.

We are just concerned with the trending.

Ah... so civil rights only extend to the government? Can a corporation then descriminate on racial bias, religions and the like, because they are not the federal government?

No, but we have other laws for that thankfully.

And apparently only the federal government. I guess the state government of Louisiana can now make it mandatory to have morning prayer at school and force everyone say "Under God" during the pledge of allegiance since state and local governments have zero responsibility in regards 1st amendment rights.

Well, you have a right to believe that.

And we have the right to not give a frick what you believe.

Do YOU see how that works?

It would seem so as long as they don't arrest anyone.

Even better.

Since he knows that no government would stand for violent groups preventing minorities from speaking, he's effectively saying that the government can SELECTIVELY protect people's right to free speech...........and somehow...........that stupid shite wouldn't violate the constitution.

LOL. Can you imagine. A government takes the official position that it cancels the events of one group for "security concerns" but would almost certainly call in the National fricking guard if another group was being attacked.

Yeah. THAT's the American DS WANTS to live in.

Well. I wouldn't have anchored it.

But as per usual, it was a straight up troll.

DS is basically a loser who says shite that either he doesn't believe or is so painfully stupid as to make you blind.

I generally view it as the former. My guess is, some admin is tired of his shtick.
