At a very small level. But more than other terrorists on US soil

The thing about big vs. small government as it pertains to control is it depends on which parts are big and which are small or nonexistent.
unpack this
It's not a lot to unpack if size is defined as spending, and we realize that power is unrelated to it.

We could gut education, healthcare, etc., then take half the savings and put it into the military in order to police the inevitable riots and crime wave. The government would be a lot "smaller", but it would be a lot more powerful and controlling.

It's not very small gov't if you cut the programs then place that money elsewhere. That's not cutting, that's re-appropriating funds to another department.

I said half of it, save the other half. Or just cut them and save all of it. It was just an example to show how government can be technically smaller yet more powerful. No need to get pedantic.

compensatory cults of unity

Where are the paid cults of unity that support President Trump?

There are none, bitch!

quote:

First of all, you quoted someone else. Not me, bitch.

NSS but you agreed that what I quoted fit President Trump to a "T".

quote:

Second, 'compensatory' doesn't necessarily mean 'paid'. Compensation can come in the form of government action (or even words), and Trump's cult is currently eating it up and feeling well-compensated. Tell me you're not, bitch.

Again, NSS.

What you claim is "Trump's cult" are what the rest of us call "American citizens who voted for Trump to be POTUS".

They are not being "compensated" by President Trump.

Those American Voters are just reaping the rewards of their candidate winning the presidency in a legal election.

quote:

Trump was legally elected POTUS by the people and President Trump is using the legal power he is granted as POTUS to do what the people who voted for him want him to do.

quote:

Of course he is! It's just that the people who voted for him want him to do some crazy shite, apparently.

Regardless of the fact that you think the American citizens who voted for President Trump are asking him to do "crazy shite", Those American citizens want President Trump to do those things through the legal process using his executive authority as POTUS.

quote:

I will be watching intently for the next four years to see how Trump's followers' mood changes (or doesn't). The signs on the road to Fascism all face the other direction.

It may look that way to you but that's because you have your head screwed on backwards!

Try looking at yourself in the mirror and you'll see fascism.

I think Trump definitely trends Fascist. I think it depends on your own personal definition, but it should be easy to see how some could view Trump as a Fascist or potential Fascist. Especially considering the seemingly blind loyalty most Trump supporters have, as if he can do no wrong.
Point by point, and with some variations, the Braxton model could just as well be applied to JFK, FDR, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton or any Republican POTUS you want to name. So what. Fascist-naming is a very subjective and partisan practice. Something like Salem Witch hunting and the Red Scare of the 1950s. Anti-Trump violence by the street mobs and propaganda purveyors looks a lot more like fascism than anything I've seen from Trump or his supporters.

I actually didn't. I didn't respond to that quote/definition at all.

Regardless, you are weirdly focusing on one single word in that quote, "compensatory". Why?
quote:

What you claim is "Trump's cult" are what the rest of us call "American citizens who voted for Trump to be POTUS".
Not everyone who voted Trump are part of his "cult". A lot of them just hated Hillary that much. What I would describe as his cult are the ones (like yourself, I guess) who defend his every action as if it's exactly what they wanted when they voted for him.

Meh. I got the proper inference of you posting that quote.

Meh, a journey of 1000 miles starts with a first step.

That was my first step.

So far President Trump has done exactly what I voted for him to do.

When President Trump does something I didn't vote for him to do then I'll let you know.

Well, you'll need to do a lot of steppin' to hold back Trump's march toward Fascism.

That was a joke, in case it's not clear.

Including all the extra-curriculars?

My guess is he will miraculously go an entire 4 years without doing anything that you disagree with. As if you and he (and many others) are the same person.

I'll be on the lookout, though.

If you are an islamists or if you are in the US illegally, then I could see you being scared of President Trump. Any other groups - homosexual (probably the most pro-LGBT we have had), poor (job growth, cleaning up inner cities, etc.), Muslim (Islamists are different than Muslims), or any other group that pretends like Trump is against you or the media tells you that Trump is coming for you, should be excited about what is happening in America.

There may be people that claim to be KKK, but I'd say the group has been functionality extinct for 20 years.

The laughing emotion is used to show that it is meant as a joke.

Unlike you, I don't go around guessing what other people will do in the future.

I think you meant hitler. Give examples of how trump has done this. Tell me how he has an intolerable view over judaism, poor.
Before you make the one of him "making fun of the reporter", he even makes fun of himself like that.
