I suspect you unwittingly answered your own question.

Explain.

But to clarify "should one of his students bring 'it' up," it all depends on what the meaning of "it" is.

I'll define "it" as any theistic explanation. If I'm teaching all of the steps known in evolution or at least strongly implied, it would seem to me that an atheist can think that's all there is and that a theist can think that God caused all of those steps.

In that way, evolution really is no different than any other scientific class. If I point out the atomic properties of Iron and a students stands up and says, "I think God caused those specific properties", how is that different than if I'm teaching about what has been learned regarding evolution?

There is a difference between "theistic explanation," and a theistic question as you initially implied.

well with this logic you can say neither math nor world war II are taught in the bible, so it shouldn't be taught in class

amazing how you quote me but omit THE CAPITALIZED PORTION

capitalization generally implies some import realtive to the rest of the sentence

Question being posed is, How does DNA "only make sense in light of what we know about evolution by natural selection"

What conclusion am I to draw then? You're misrepresenting previous statements and arguments. I've said that evolution is important and should be taught in schools. The bill referenced in the OP is at least allowing that to happen rather than shoehorning creation into the mix. I never said you can't learn other aspects of biology without evolution, but why would you when it provides a deeper understanding of these items and how they interconnect.

The point is that Evolution is, most definitely, the unifying theory of biology.

However, it is not required to have a deep understanding of it to teach the basic biology taught in HS.

At a deeper level, if one was say, a biology major, obviously a deep understanding would be needed.

Neither is pretty much anything taught in a modern science class at all. Is his conclusion, just don't teach science?

The fact that people like that are given a platform...

Perhaps that I read portions of your link that you didn't?
I could relate it to "reading comprehension," but I suspect you just missed that part of the article.

Well. He's right.

Again, however, for purposes of a HS Science class, it isn't really necessary to get into depth. All those kids are doing is memorizing shite they are going to forget in 2 days. So they can "understand" (ie memorize) stuff with out a deep understanding of Evolution.
