I wish in an ironic twist of fate that the cops would use this video to find that guy on stage with her who was chanting "BURN THIS shite DOWN" and indict him with inciting a riot.

I would laugh my arse off. It would serve that POS right.

You are correct. The narrative has been cast and is now "fact". Even a member of the CBC called this a "miscarriage of justice." I found that comment by her to be extremely irresponsible.

Sound is like the easiest thing to store vs. video. Stupid to have an on off switch for that.

I would like to see it anyway as it would show the initial approach and verify how much the SUV may have been shaking from the shuffle, the angle and speed that the SUV backed up, as well as possibly show any flashes from the first shots. Also the reaction of the cars as they went around the SUV after the gunfire started. There were supposedly 3 cars behind the SUV at the time.

i think the amount of empathy deserved decreases with the publicity and self-serving sought by the alleged grieving person

I am trying to understand why the black community simply does not want to believe the actions of Brown were essentially suicidal. They don't believe he did what he did

Fair point, and I think it goes back to the general lack of trust many blacks have with law enforcement. This incident didn't occur in a vacuum for them. It's the culmination of many years of what they perceive to be mistreatment towards them by the police department and justice system. Add in outside sympathizers and national media attention, and it becomes more difficult for them to admit their initial impression of what occurred was wrong. A lot of that is human nature.

I think it's totally fair to criticize the actions of the agitators, rioters, looters, media, etc. that have fed into the frenzy. Criticizing a grieving mother is way out of bounds.

Maybe I missed it, but how do we know she was absent and negligent in her raising of him? And even if she was, how is that supposed to diminish her pain and anguish? How is she supposed to react

One can draw conclusions just by watching this video

I sympathize with her losing a child but she's "grandstanding" in this video....and it's disgusting.

Why cops don't want their conversations (or snooring) on duty recorded when they aren't interacting with ppl. Most of the time cops are on duty they are just patrolling and there is no need to be recording.

According to DJ. I am waiting on DW's testimony to load. I'll edit once I read it.

Come on Tbird. You can go ahead and post your group chat transcripts with rev Jackson and rev sharpton. Or just shoot us a link to the secret "black people community forum" where y'all discuss ways to co-opt the innocent white youth into doing drugs and listening to slim thug.

I don't have any more in common with black people in Ferguson or other parts of the country than you do (assuming you're white) with random white people in Reno, Nevada.

I agree with this. But, that doesn't counter the fact that there is a very large segment of the black population that aligns with the people in ferguson. In fact, I believe it is a majority.

No. His statement is factually correct unfortunately.

I wish some reporter would have the balls to ask this wonderful parent why her saint of a son didn't even live with her. For that matter, Michael Brown didn't live with the father, either.

Wait wait wait. All last night I kept hearing this beautifully composed letter, attributed to the Brown family, being read calling for restraint and a positive reaction. This woman doesn't appear capable of stringing four cohesive words together.

So that would be different than losing a child to cancer or a car wreck. Or how about in military service to the country.
She rasied (if you can call it that) a thug and the results were predictible.

If one of my daughters grows up and does the shite that this guy did and gets shot by a cop, this entire board is free to comment negatively on my parenting, because I would be a complete failure.

She wasn't even raising her son. He was living with Grandma.

I will say that the Dad seems to be a better person than this woman, but he wasn't raising his son, either.

Definitely the impression I got, as well. He seemed calm and rational in calling for peace and order.

The mother, on the other hand, is a grandstander.

Pretty sure they didn't have a dash cam in his Tahoe.
