and unidentified "Russian sympathizers" in Crimea taking over an airport, right?

More than 10 Russian military helicopters flew over Crimea and Russian servicemen blockaded a unit of the Ukrainian border guard in the port city of Sevastopol, the guard said.
Also from yesterday morning...

As to the rest of your diatribe, I didn't read it. Waste of time.

I just don't see NATO getting involved in this.

Let me rephrase. If they wanted to, they could request for them to leave the area. Russia would never go unless made to by force. But, let's face it, the Ukraine does not have the military resources to force Russia out of Sevastopol.

The Baltics, Romania, or Poland would have to get involved first. None of them care to be dominated by Russia. And all are NATO members.

Of course not. Completely misunderstand something, post credentials without prompt in an attempt to make yourself an authority, and then when called out for a being a self-conscious twit, feign ignorance. That's the LSURussian we know and don't really care for on Tigerdroppings.

Then you have war, Putin so much as launches a bottle rocket at them they can activate Article 5 of the NATO charter.

Some little document called the North Atlantic Treaty Organization disagrees.

Obama has proven he is Putin's bitch. Obama will just hold another press conference to express his concerns.

Does the US get two votes? I must have missed that article.

The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognised by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.
An attack on Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, or any other member nation is legally considered an attack on the United States.

They are feisty people to begin with and don't like Russians what so ever. That would be a messy conflict.

I know that you are more knowledgeable about the area than most, and I know that the Ukraine is own its own and likely done for, but I cant see Russia going into the others. It would force a response from Nato.
Posted on 3/1/14 at 12:39 pm to TigerPride10
With the way this administration has treated Russia as a lesser nation, I don't see the NATO pact surviving.

while Obama has proven time and time again IF (and that is a very big and important if) any of the NATO countries get involved the I would think Obama's hand would be tied by the pressure. We might not have to aid militarily because like others have said Ukraine, Poland, Romania have a strong enough force to stand up to the Russian military.

France has a large base in Chad just north if CAR so I don't think this is true. The us is likely providing support so they can claim relevancy in the region.

Have you booked your flight to Kiev yet?
You are so worried what happens there I am sure you intend to defend the country from the Russians.
Not one American combat boot needs to be on the ground.

And now you show your true intent. Another Bash obama thread.
shame on you.
If a Nato country is attacked. We will defend it. It's a simple as that.
