Evidently there are no longer any nukes in Turkey as of last year.

No it won't. Russia has more Muslims than the rest of Europe combined. turkey is part of the European Union just like Germany. If someone invades them they have the Europeans in their back pocket. So yes there is access. The reason the Turkish where let into the union was because it's a buffer to the Middle East.

Which is exactly what Turkey wants. It needs support to fight the Kurds. Turkey and Russia aren't interested in a war between each other. Turkey has aims into Northern Iraq as well as quelling any notion of a free Kurdistan. Russia and Iran get unfettered access to the Mediterranean. The funding of terrorism continues because the Sunni's aren't happy and don't want to fight Iran directly.
