I can see delaying until there are enough cots, blankets, some food and water. Security and first aid too. But is the being worked on?

I think the timeline was more like, people started raising hell with that church and NOW they're looking for "enough cots" and stuff like that. That dude is so full of shite it's unreal.

Dude's church got flooded. What do they want him to do?

Remember the Dome for Katrina? Hoards of locals were let in and they tore the place up...you want that at your place?

Probably fears it will get torn up like the Superdome did after Katrina.
Don't really care for the "name it claim it" types.

Maybe they want him to actually do some christian work with his 50 million that he has earned off of his parishioners.

Wrong. There's pictures from yesterday outside his church of cars driving around and minor puddling on the roads.

Lol only this board could come up with excuses DEFENDING a charlatan like osteen not being Christian like at a time when everyone seems so sincere about this.

Him and his wife both.
To be fair though, if Lakewood was flooded, what options did he have? I personally haven't heard that area was flooded but the local news here have been trying to get hero shots of rescues for the most part so really have no idea.

Eh. He is definitely a charlatan. But who's gonna pay the massive clean up bill and who's going to repair the church after the flood victims leave? You?

Is this a serious question

Are we supposed to know who that is?
Posted on 8/29/17 at 6:39 am to the808bass
I'm gonna go with, the money that church makes off people could easily repair any damages short of wild banshees burning the place to the ground. And I guess when you "seriously" asked if I would be paying the bill, no I will not.

actually as long as we're delving into the spiritual realm, since you're such a good "christian", i think a good case could be made that god was punishing houston for becoming such a godless liberal schithole and that pastor olsteen church being spared was a sign of providence.
but hey that's just me i'm a glass half full kind of guy!

So you're not willing to contribute to their efforts but you have no problem requiring them to make a +$5M donation, or more than 5% of their annual income.

I have contributed plenty. My aunt is a sheriff there. We've been quite involved.

You have a relative there, ergo you've given plenty. That's about par for your logic.

That's not what I said at all. I have family there so I was more inclined to donate blood and money, which I've done. But yeah compare me to someone making money off "being a Christian" and trying to defend him by calling out anyone who isn't being more Christian than him.
