If there is evidence of some sort of physical altercation prior to McKnight getting shot then that could provide Gasser the legal recourse to shoot him bc he "feared for his life".

That it's due to "road rage" isn't relevant once a fight begins.

Eyewitnesses aren't reliable. Video is more helpful.

also, "I told you not to f with me" isn't necessarily as damning as it seems.

In my state, it is very relevant. Specifically, if it involves the forceful entry into a vehicle.

A person may use deadly physical force, and is legally presumed to be justified in using deadly physical force in self-defense or the defense of another person pursuant to subdivision (4), if the person reasonably believes that another person is: ...

(5) In the process of unlawfully and forcefully entering, or has unlawfully and forcefully entered, a dwelling, residence, business property, or occupied vehicle,...

Yeah, not saying this guy don't need to be thrown under the jail, but the eyewitness testimony on the Brown(initially) and the Scott case was all proven false, by both video and other eyewitness testimony, so going to have to wait on the facts here...,

I watched the press conference.

All 3 shots taken from inside the shooters vehicle. Did not stand over McKnight and shoot him, nor make any statement as reported.
This according to Sheriff.

No video is known to exist of incident.

I curious if he was attacked in his vehicle. If so, that is an attempted carjacking and he is in the clear in AL.

Would he fear for his life if he wasn't fighting a jacked young black man? If it was anyone else would the gun come out?

Hypothetically speaking: do you wait to see what color someone is if they open your car door after a traffic incident before you decide if they mean harm?

A couple of dummy posters openly said this was a hate crime in another thread yesterday.

No one knows the facts.

All we know is that McKnight was out of his car and was shot dead by this guy. And we have a single witness statement.

I can tell you as a former prosecutor eyewitness testimony is some of the most unreliable evidence possible. Why? Because people sometimes honestly get things wrong. They also lie sometimes.

We will have to wait until we know more. Until then, people are just spouting out of their asses.

Black as a tire, but that is besides the point. Why can't the question be asked without bringing up race? Would the gun come out if it was a jacked young man? Would the gun come out if it was a woman? Would the gun come out if it were an old guy? It always has to be about the race.
