Interesting take from NYT and a tl,dr synopsis from WaPo on Sessions FUBAR'd voting fraud case in Alabama Black belt counties that is still giving him grief. Sounds like a mess and one he probably should have deferred on. Sessions weak case and his heavy handed tactics brought this on himself.

Sessions is far and away the worst appointee by Trump.

Awful, awful choice.

I like most of his other picks FWIW.

I heard Sessions also messed up an art project when he was in high school.

How far back are we going to go to determine he isn't fit for the job? Is 30+ years long enough to learn from mistakes? Asking for a friend...

Is anyone going to actually discuss this case and its merits or we simply dismissing this as "Fake News"

This was the media during the dark years of the Obama reign of terror.

No. It was over 30 years ago and no one cares.

BTW: The WaPo article is far from critical of Sessions.

Exactly-- what exactly qualified Holder or Lynch to be AG?? How in depth was the digging for those two?!

How about filing it under "Stuff that happened 30 years ago before half of you were even born"? And then not discussing it all? Because well.. 30 fricking years ago.

The problem is Sessions doesn't think what he did that caused him to be rejected in 1986 were mistakes. I think people can change, and I'm sure in many ways Sessions has changed. But he has yet to admit some of the things he was accused of doing were wrong, nor has he apologized for them. He either denies them happening or claims they were taken out of context.
