Obama inherited a world economy in free fall and huge issue with AQ unresolved, that's all.

what does this have to do with getting China/Russia to agree to sanctions on NK in teh past?

Only foreign policy idiots mince words when someone is saying we're going to nuke your country.

It's the same things we always hear about Donald. You don't have to be mean! It just appears to me that people want to ignore the brinksmanship by DPRK and focus on a warning in response to the brinksmanship. I think the right tact was taken when we are threatened with nuclear war and revenge.

The poster I was replying to said to ignore them.

But to your response, everything else has been tried over decades and NK needs to be reminded of its place in the world.

All of this bluster is an attempt to see how far it can push the line with a new president. They're being treated, as they should be, like a flea on a dog's butt. They need to be reminded that If they keep biting, they're going to get knocked off.

what they really fear is Trump having a "Cuban Missile Crisis" moment where he pulls off the biggest diplomatic victory since WWII

Funny thing about the Cuban Missile Crisis is it was a complete blunder by JFK.
The US installed Nuclear missiles in Turkey in April 1962. The Missiles placed in Cuba were a reaction to the ones we placed in Turkey

Many of the missiles were never even removed, Only the medium and intermediate missiles were removed. There were over 100 tactical nuclear warheads that remained after the crisis abated. Kennedy as per usual got punked.
He also acquiesced to secretly remove our missiles from turkey

Correct. The Cuban Missile Crisis was actually a pretty stinging defeat for JFK.

Good. Setting up for a monster defeat for them in 2020. Their echo chamber grows in bat shite insanity by the day.

*ETA: my sister's husband just posted this

they can't even let Kim Jong Un be the clear villain. they have to put Trump at least on co-villain status

He's one tough motherfricker. Too bad he was too yellow to enlist during the Vietnam war. Maybe the outcome would have been different if we would have had him over there throwing his weight around.

It's always easy to be the tough motherfricker when it's someone else doing the dying.

Trump is a bully...in the very typical fashion of being a bully. He needs to recognize, which we all know he won't, he is the president now. You don't get to say whatever the frick is on your mind...he took what was a managed crisis with the North Koreans and raised the specter of war. Very very dumb on his part.

Actually the Democrats gained 6 in the House and Senate remains Republican in the Midterms. His approval remained in the 60's after Crisis before dipping into the mid 50's in September of 63.

he also was pushing for invasion much more than is portrayed. Bobby did a hell of a job making the CMC turd look like a diamond after the fact.

DPRK is saber rattling in response to America's loss of credibility during the Obama regime. Our inaction in Ukraine and Georgia (and our actions in Libya) proved to the world that you should never give up a nuclear weapons program because the US will not honor its word if you do. This is the line that has the most traction in foreign policy circles. When the US stopped honoring its commitments over the last 8 years, the world realized that we cannot be relied upon. Russia filled that void with a quickness.

why does there have to be just one villain? This isn't a movie. Why does there have to be a villain at all?

A managed crisis where North Korea is vowing to annihilate the US with nuclear weapons, and you're argument is TRUMP raised the specter of war?
