I spoke of American slavery that way because that is what it is. A small part of black history.

But its not a small part of black history in America.

To be clear the data I presented

Unless I missed something quantitative, are you still talking about those graphs? Numbers are important here.

Yes I am still referencing the maps which are representations of the numbers. Certainly there could be some variance but most people can understand the application on the larger scale. I don't have the time nor the motivation to look up the individual #'s and present them to appease you. If you would like to do so go for it.

by pure numbers alone i just can't see the rates being even, but i'd like to see the discussion in statistical form

but, like i said above, that's just shifting the argument to another variable. i agree poor people are more violent than non-poor people. then we have to ask why black americans are so disproportionately poor? why are latinos? why aren't asians? why aren't black immigrants? etc

it is a pretty common idea that black people commit more crime than white people. My point is that race has nothing to do with it...it is an economic issue...poor people of all races are more likely yo commit all sorts of crimes, especially violent crimes. The race thing is added to make it seem as if it is a black / white issue when it isn't...it is economics, period.

You don't have to do anything to appease me. I just wanted to point out that you can't really draw any significant conclusions based on those graphs--that would take a more thorough statistical analysis of quantitative data.

watch my local New Orleans news every morning and evening for one. The daily repeating shootings within the black community are proof that this is the case. It is also the case across most inner city urban American communities. You will never get true statistics on the racial breakdown of violent crimes in America, however. Everyone is scared to be labeled a racist while continuing to ignore the pressing issue. All you truly have to do is get your head out of your arse and pay attention to the happenings around you to know this is the case. This is how I drew my conclusion.

What is your solution then and why don't yu do something to solve it
