As appreciated as such proclamations are, we’re past the point where words have much impact.

I agree. It would be great if every Republican governor sent a thousand guardsmen to help the TNG.

The feds can’t allow this to get too hot during an election year with an unfavorable incumbent over an unfavorable issue for that incumbent. The question is how far they push it before they find a way to make it go quiet then in their favor.

Yep, this plays so much into Trumps favor. He needs to put the pedal down now on this issue, if not they may make it go away, from the public eye.

That would be a squeaky clean argument if we had a truly functioning immigration process. It’s underfunded, understaffed and absolutely broken. We literally make it easier to immigrate illegally than it is to immigrate lawfully. That’s going to have to be fixed at some point if we ever want to resolve this issue long term.

The US grants roughly 1 million immigrants permanent legal residency every year. The US also has more immigrants than any other nation in the world, by a wide margin.

Just because more people want to come here than anywhere else in the world does not mean we are obligated to accept them all, nor make it fast and easy. Yes there are issues with our immigration system, but the line is long because everyone wants in.

Everywhere that letter says "President Biden", it should say "Biden's handlers". Other than that, I like it.

It should say “Brandon’s handlers “.

Defending states from invasion is the most basic of constitutional al duties. Hell, without that the constitution never even gets ratified.

If the Constitution really made states powerless to defend themselves against an invasion, it wouldn’t have been ratified in the first place...

You kind of skipped over point A, if they are not abiding by the constitution, and their sworn oath in the first place....they cant be granted any executive powers.

If the executive can simply ignore wide swaths of law, why couldn't an executive simply say "F*ck it, I'm not enforcing the tax law. No one has to pay taxes anymore!".

It violates the basic idea of balance of power. At that point the executive has the power over the legislative branch. That's what made the most recent decision so rotten. It pretty much means the president can Veto congress in an unoverridable manner. He can just ignore the laws they pass.

We've never quite gotten to a point where the executive is just refusing to exercise his powers to the detriment of the State to this degree.
We've been here for a couple of decades at this point.

If states still had millitias, Texas could effectively seal the border. But as it stands, Biden can nationalize the guard and that is that.

I posted on here years ago that states should enlarge their militias.

As it stands they are too small and weak to close the border.

Enough is enough. Our southern border is in crisis thanks to the Biden administration’s refusal to do their job.

@GregAbbott_TX and the state of Texas have our full support.

The number of militias in Texas would astound you. It is the last state Fed Gov wants to frick with.

I'm sure Abrams would have done better. Trump seems to think so, anyway.
