Also, it's reasonable to question the intent of people illegally entering ones domain. If the first act they commit upon arriving is illegal, already they are disrespecting the rule of law. Definitely warrants a response to protect ones borders.
No research, just my opinion.

That would be a squeaky clean argument if we had a truly functioning immigration process. It’s underfunded, understaffed and absolutely broken. We literally make it easier to immigrate illegally than it is to immigrate lawfully.

That’s going to have to be fixed at some point if we ever want to resolve this issue long term.

I believe there's a way on the Texas state website for an individual to contribute to the cause. If I'm not mistaken, EKG has posted a link in the past in these threads.

That’s a fund specifically earmarked for a few pennies to be directed towards paying for the buses that are relocating <1% of the problem.

Unfortunately this ambivalence by fedgov towards the invasion of illegals is costing Texas $billions.

If this confrontation persists and other states don't step up to help, hopefully Texas makes it easy for individuals to contribute financially to the cause.

Biden is so boxed in here. And it's something we've discussed for a couple of years now as a possibility.

The weakness in this scenario was always the state executive letting FedGov off the hook, which could still happen. But candidly I did not expect Abbott to double down so definitively.

It's beautiful

"Shall protect each [State] from invasion"

FedGov broke its Constitutional guarantee.

While I don't disagree with the sentiment that this should not be happening, but Congress writes the laws, Executive branch enforces. Not sure exactly how Congress compels the Executive, especially without a super majority of the other party to have some sort of leverage for "negotiation"

Everywhere that letter says "President Biden", it should say "Biden's handlers".

The above is absolutely essential in Trump's campaign. Biden is senile and it is the DEM PARTY that is calling the shots and allowing an invasion, systematic economic insolvency and soon to be dysfunction and rationing of basic goods and services. With DEI aggrieved folk going to the front of the line. A long line until one of those Islamist fanatics do their thing.

Is Texas getting any meaningful support from other states? Money, guardsmen, joining the legal cases?

More illegals than the total population of 33 states.

Yet people will act like there isn’t a problem.
