Rep. Joaquin Castro is calling on President Biden to take control of the Texas National Guard if the state defies a Supreme Court ruling that allows U.S. Border Patrol officers to take down the border barriers.

nationalize the Texas NG

can they nationalize a state's NG for anything other than a national disaster?

Are they declaring that interfering with illegal immigration is a national disaster?

They try and nationalize the TX guard to move them out and we will see shite go down IMO and lines will be drawn quickly. I would wager the majority of TX guardsman feel more loyal to TX than the Fed.

Biden is so boxed in here. And it's something we've discussed for a couple of years now as a possibility.
Its good to see change happening at the lower level up. Grass roots up is how this mess gets tired around.

But candidly I did not expect Abbott to double down so definitively.

It's beautiful
Me either. Genuine or not, it’s a step in the correct direction. Defending states from invasion is the most basic of constitutional al duties. Hell, without that the constitution never even gets ratified.

Greg Abbott needs to be on a short list of possible future presidential candidates.

I have been saying for a while that he needs to do this, not send them inland.

Should I be president? he is quite literally copying everything i said.

Pretty sure the Op has been on this train for a while too.

Half, or greater, of this board, considers Abbott a cuck because he doesn't 100% kiss the rear of Trump.

Man some of you are so fricking ate up with tds.

Its because he had the authority to protect his state all along. 10 million illegals later is too late.

If the Constitution really made states powerless to defend themselves against an invasion, it wouldn’t have been ratified in the first place and Texas would have never joined the union when it did.

TX is upholding the law while Biden is flouting it.

FL will keep assisting Texas with personnel and assets.

That would be a squeaky clean argument if we had a truly functioning immigration process. It’s underfunded, understaffed and absolutely broken. We literally make it easier to immigrate illegally than it is to immigrate lawfully.

And???? It would be easier for me to pay bills if I robbed others of their money. That makes it ok?

It shouldn't be easy to immigrate here and become a citizen. There's a process in place. People are just too lazy and impatient to use it.

People claiming asylum should be doing that when they cross over into Mexico for Mexican asylum, not crossing two or three countries to do it here.

The808bass is calling on the Governors over every state with a sanctuary city to take control of the city police and local government to enforce the laws in place.

I saw that.
Won’t surprise me to see most GOP governors release similar statements.
As appreciated as such proclamations are, we’re past the point where words have much impact.
