Right. Because they could just use a knife. Got it.

And yes, that is exactly what happens.

England

quote:

The stabbing death of a teenage girl in Birmingham highlights a grim phenomenon in Great Britain – violent crimes committed not with guns, but with knives.

quote:

According to Citizens-Report UK, between 2010-11 and 2011-12, 21 out of 32 London boroughs witnessed an increase in knife crimes -- continuing a four-year upward trend. In some parts of the city, the number of such incidents spiked by more than 20 percent in just one year.

On the whole, London reported more than 14,000 knifings last year, while according to Parliament, England and Wales recorded almost 30,000 knife offenses.

Australia

quote:

Analysis of the data indicated an increase in the use of knives as a proportion of all homicides, although the number of homicides remained relatively constant

Australia and England. Two bastions of gun control proving you you're wrong on this statement.

Your study doesn't prove that at all....it proves more guns = more people dead FROM guns. Doesn't necessarily mean that more people are dead. Looks like the study counts suicide as well which just seems to skew the whole fricking thing, IMO.

Tuba doesn't give a shite about the truth. He also doesn't seem to have a problem about being completely dishonest when discussing issues on PT. Like most people, he's going to try to find data to support his already developed position. I don't really think he is open to new evidence... Which is interesting, considering he's a scientist.

Several years ago, a Harvard study came out that completely discredits Tuba's views on gun control. Now, I'm sure he can find another study that will refute this one. My position on the 2nd Amendment don't hinge on whether or not guns slightly affect the murder rate one way or the other.

According to wikipedia ( LINK) suicide counts for about 2/3 of gun deaths in the US.

Leading cause of suicide is depression.

One of the leading causes of depression is financial issues.

One of the leading financial crisis causations is tax trouble.

Leading proponents of taxation are liberals.

Ban liberals and cut gun deaths by up to 2/3's. Win/win

Dont even waste time on Tuba and Rex. They are worthless posters especially when it comes to guns, they do zero research, refuse logic, reason or anything that contradicts their own liberal sponsored narrative.
Its beat, its dry, its ignorant and contributes zero.

Secondly this is not a 3d gun printer, it makes paper weights into receivers

Not in Switzerland. Not in New Hampshire.

Not in lawful hands - anywhere.

more violent criminals = more dead people (even with very restrictive gun control laws)

That's not a gun problem. That's a people problem.

People murdered and killed long before guns were even a concept.

Australia is showing that knife homicides did not increase at all, but gun homicides went down considerably.

And your England "knife" article doesn't reflect gun ownership either. Guns were banned many years before the date range that article mentioned and homicides are down overall.

CNC Mill =/= 3-D Printer

CNC mills and 3-D printers are both advanced, but work in opposite manners. Mills remove material. 3-D printers add material.

Switzerland has about half the rate of firearms per capita compared to the US, yet their murder rate by firearm is only 1/7 per capita compared to ours. So you are correct, sir.

It's a cultural problem, not a proliferation of firearms problem, as evidenced by statistics. But I'm sure the gun control Nazis on this board will pay no heed to this evidence.

Homicides are irrelevant. The point was Tuba saying sarcastically that criminals who would otherwise use a gun would instead use a knife.

Again, irrelevant for the same reason.

The fact that this scares you makes me insanely happy.

BTW, I can make my own ammo... Good luck regulating it...

I don't know how many times I have to say this in how many gun control threads on the PB....but GD I'll do it again...

If you take the black on black murder rates in the 5 most populous cities in this country, the United States is by far the safest country in the world with the highest gun ownership in the world.

and it isn't even close

This machine just mills out a lower receiver for you - what the ATF considers "the weapon" subject to their regulation. The important stuff you still have to buy and will be professionally made.

If you can field strip and reassemble an AR-15, it is not a big leap to complete one with the receiver you "build yourself" with this small, special purpose CNC mill.

I'll just use a drill press to mill the lower instead of buying that thing for $1500 that has no other use. Nothing changed here that hasn't been legal for 20 years already.

Oh and I can load my own ammo as well Rex. Does that scare you too?
