I'll just use a drill press to mill the lower instead of buying that thing for $1500 that has no other use.

It doesn't have "no other use" - you can CNC anything that can fit in there - it's just been targeted to a specific market - finishing 80% (and possibly 0%) lowers - I just started looking into it over the weekend.

And, you're comparing a relatively automatic process with this mill, as opposed to doing it the hard way with a drill press and jig that you have to run yourself for hours - with vibration, cooling, manual errors, etc., all getting in the way.

we could pass more gun laws against illegal use of guns ... it has worked wonders in chicago and other large cities that do not want guns used in criminal activities, e.g. detroit, d.c. los angeles, philly, etc ... win/win for both gun rights advocates and gun regulation advocates ...

if this thing is programed to mill a lower from a block of aluminum then yea it might be worth $1500. finishing an 80% lower with a drill press and a jig isn't that hard.

but either way this is nothing new

Rex, once again, showed his own ignorance and immaturity by never showing up again in this thread.

He knows he's on the wrong side of this battle.

And it's glorious.

Gotta go press some 9MM this evening in his honor.

It isn't that easy, either. Plus, manual work with hand tools or drill press, requires a significant time commitment and somewhat of a learning curve. It is within the reach of most handy people, but it is a less than optimal solution.

This $1200, purpose built, mill is about half of the lowest priced general purpose 2-axis mill, and about 1/7 the price of a 3-axis mill. A lot of DIY, lifehack-type solutions for this very problem (CNC milling of 80% lowers, with jigs) run 2 to 3 times this price tag.

I was actually wondering how long it would be before this type of product appeared on the market.

1) a $1200 mill can't be very good. A $1200 cnc mill is probably garbage.

2) What are you going to do with all your lowers after you make them? If you build yourself a gun, you don't need numbers on it. If you sell it, you've got to put numbers on it.

Question: In the last 30 years, has the total number of guns in the US increased or decreased?

33 killed in Chinese knife attack

It was 29 killed by knife attack, by AT LEAST nine simultaneous attackers.

In the meantime, back in America, a single person killed 26 people at an elementary school using a semi-automatic rifle, while nobody has figured out how to use rifles for conveniently slicing bread and steaks.

Interestingly, this was done in a gun free zone.

Can you be any more dishonest? There's no such thing as a "gun-free zone" in the USA.

That isn't true. There are places that are legal deemed gun free zones.

Not going to sell them.

I could sell the mill, then, though, right? Once I don't need anymore lowers?

Can you be any more dishonest? Idiots like you support such zones all the time which merely means that the bad guys know where the good guys will NOT have guns.

You f'n morons create those killing fields and then gripe that others note it.
