Results. Gun ownership was a significant predictor of firearm homicide rates (incidence rate ratio?=?1.009; 95% confidence interval?=?1.004, 1.014). This model indicated that for each percentage point increase in gun ownership, the firearm homicide rate increased by 0.9%.

Your study doesn't prove that at all....it proves more guns = more people dead FROM guns. Doesn't necessarily mean that more people are dead. Looks like the study counts suicide as well which just seems to skew the whole fricking thing, IMO.

That isn't important. The important thing is that guns are scary and only certain people should be allowed to have guns and regular citizens should not be allowed to have guns.

If that's the case my friends and family should have went extinct long ago. Unless it's prohibited by law, I'm never more than several feet from a gun. Including in my office at work. It's been acceptable with my company for over 40 years and shocking as it may be, none have ever gone off.

The important thing is that untraceable guns of all kinds are freely available for purchase by anyone who wants one, that way the Cubans don't have a list they can use to round up all the guns in the country when they invade like in that movie Red Dawn. Oh, yeah, and also we want to be able to murder government agents if we need to, to protect freedom and stuff.

Well, that is a distinct possibility.

Others include vehicles, bombs, clubs, fists, hatchets, blunt objects, and poison, among many, many others.

Many things can be used to kill other humans. Humans are very crafty when it involves methods or tools used to kill.

Timothy McVeigh didn't use a gun when he killed all of those people in Oklahoma City. He used objects that can still be bought legally on the market to this day.

I don't see that as an issue.

Although you may believe otherwise, this isn't actually possible. The Cuban government doesn't have the military might to pull of an invasion of Florida, let alone the entirety of the USA.

That is quite a disgusting view you hold. I would never want to murder anyone.

As a big govt lover I would think this would be good news for you. Now the CIA/FBI/NSA can make the case for much greater levels of monitoring of the people. How else can they keep track of all our guns?

It's win/win for you homeboy.

Hijackers didn't use guns to kill 3,000 innocent Americans.

Well, if we are discussing the entire list of possibilities, there is an infinite number of things that could go wrong.

For example, ISIS could get their hands on one of these items.

I believe that nothing will go wrong though.

According to wikipedia ( LINK) suicide counts for about 2/3 of gun deaths in the US.

Stop using studies that flip flop language to make people see what you want them to see.

You are wrong about more guns meaning more dead people or even more violent crime.

Just get over it and move along. You are not, nor is anyone here getting internet point for proving someone wrong. Nevertheless, you are wrong. Being a sarcastic a-hole about it wont change that.

More guns = less violent crime
More guns =/= equal a rise in violent crime or "dead people"

I'm not sure what the issue is? Freedom is early always a good thing.

BTW, I would bet that many lives could be saved if we made automobiles illegal.

1) Deaths i accidents

2) I am GUESSING that a great many murders (even those using firearms) are facilitated by the murderer driving a car to his victim's location

it is such silliness to simply say "OH NO. Some a-hole may abuse a thing. Let's fear the thing"
