Just having good hair and a quick wit doesn't do the state a damn bit of good.

He can't be worse than Cassidy, now in his third term, who has only managed to introduce one bill that passed the House.

something that would have greatly changed the history of the state had it been done so during Edwin Edward's tenure as governor

And what does the governor have to do with passing a bill to do that? We had all the clout we needed with people like Russell Long, Bennett Johnston, and John Breaux and even they couldn't get it done.

Thank you Mary, for looking out for Louisiana's interests while your compadre in the Senate was pissing around with his failed prescription drug legislation.

One could venture to say he would be one of the few politicians in DC to have been caught red handed and actually had to learn a lesson from his actions. Maybe is incarceration would keep him from committing crimes.

You actually believe he learned a lesson ?

First of all, the governor was the lead instigator on the move. ML did her job! SO WHAT? It's what she's paid to do. She has always catered to the O&G industry in some way, that's how she is protected. I promise you it's not because she is a good person. She is an Obama puppet.

Maybe not, but I do know that he is being watched much more closely than the criminals in congress who have not been caught yet.

Which means that he is likely less keen to committing present and future crimes than the criminals in congress who have not been caught yet.

Why do you think he is running, it is not to win,but to bring in the AA vote for Mary. She just needs to generate interest in all the races. THis is for Mary and he will be aid handsomely for it. I wouldn't doubt if they gt to him through the new wife. She an attention whore and I don't have to explain that.

The really sad thing about Edwin is when he took office, New Orleans was bigger than Atlanta and Houston, we had come a long way from an uneducated populous during Long. We had Natural resources and clout in Congress. He had a mandate to do anything he wanted and he just wasted it. I read Leo's book he should have been on the fast track to Presidency, but blew it. Jindal could be considered in the same light and he isn't doing much better.

LOL @ state employees getting raises, LA has almost the same number of state employee as Pennsylvania, a much bigger state with a larger population. if anything we need to get rid of state employees not handing out raises to the bloated depts we already have.

Exactly. It's not the government's job to employ people in the first place.

You sir, are very intelligent. Jindal, while better than Edwards, has may problems, integrity being at the top of the list.

The Edwards apologists are an embarrassment to common sense and should be considered in the same vein as those that say the KKK "had some good qualities".

frick this state if he wins. When Louisianians ask why their state is a laughingstock as a corrupt state, it's because we don't tar and feather our corrupt politicians, even the ones who actually get convicted in a court of law and serve prison time. And because of that, these pieces of shite think they can actually get back into an elected office again. It's absolutely crazy the chokehold this POS has on LA's citizens in terms of likability. It's like Stockholm syndrome or battered wife syndorme. He needs to be treated like Bernie Madoff in LA.

frick Edwin Edwards. A-hole should still be in prison rotting to death. And frick any a-hole in this thread saying they like him or even whisper that they would vote for him.

1. Calm down, he can't win.

2. He can vote.. From Bob Mann's column on Nola.com:

"I originally wrote that Edwards could not vote for himself. However, an official with the Louisiana Attorney General's office tells me, "If he has taken to the registrar his documentation from the Bureau of Prisons attesting that he is no longer under an order of imprisonment for the conviction of a felony, then his voting rights are restored."

3. Anyone thinks Edwin Edwards would do anything to help Mary Landrieu does not know or understand the history between those two. EWE considered challenging her before deciding on the congressional race.

Finally, wrong board, bitches.
