they need to bring back the noose or the firing squad. It's over in seconds that way. Neat and conclusive. Everyone happy.

Sure, didn't feel a thing

As an anesthesiologist, I assure you he didn't experience any pain or suffering. He "gasped" (insert breathed here) 600 times in 40 minutes. Wow, a respiratory rate of 15/min. A normal respiratory rate. Do you know what happens when people experience pain or fear? Their sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) causes an increase in heart rate and respiratory rate. This guy experienced no pain or fear. You know who did? The people he killed. You know who has suffered? The family members who have known this guy was still alive while their loved ones were not. Some people - the liberal media and their sheeple - will believe anything as long as it fits their agenda. Oh my, he breathed 600 times in 40 minutes. The humanity. Im doing the same thing right now.

Government is terrible and intrusive but let's let them run the revenge business.

i find it strange that a medical doctor would be so unsympathetic to human suffering. How do we know that no fear was felt?

I believe the firing squad is an honor reserved for the rogue soldier. The rope is more suitable for the common criminal.

Are they not human? Should they have sympathy for everyone simply because they are doctors?

Well, I'm sure he was afraid. There doesn't seem as if there was a fight or flight response though, at least based off of the respiratory rate stated.

I care deeply about pain/suffering, mental and physical. I'm an anesthesiologist - that's my job. This guy didn't feel anything. That's how I know he didn't feel any fear.

I feel sympathy and take care of all my patients equally, good or bad people.

However, it is hard to have sympathy for someone who did this:

quote:

Wood and Debbie Dietz had a tumultuous relationship during which he repeatedly assaulted her. She tried to end their relationship and got an order of protection against Wood.

On the day of the shooting, Wood went to the auto shop and waited for Gene Dietz, who disapproved of his daughter's relationship with Wood, to get off the phone. Once the father hung up, Wood pulled out a revolver, shot him in the chest and then smiled.

Wood then turned his attention toward Debbie Dietz, who was trying to telephone for help. Wood grabbed her by the neck and put his gun to her chest. She pleaded with him to spare her life. An employee heard Wood say, "I told you I was going to do it. I have to kill you." He then called her an expletive and fired two shots in her chest.

Personally, I hope he was shitting himself with fear as he felt the flames of hell licking his arse as he inched ever closer. I hope it hurt like frick and never ends.

I find it strange that people sympathize with this piece of shite and are concerned he may have been scared or hurt. As a physician, I never took an oath to be a complete pussy.

the Constitution prohibits cruel and unusual punishment which obviously changes as we chug along the human timeline and all is a matter of opinion. This death doesn't pass the common sense test. Was the brain incapable of fear or feeling pain? I don't think I'll be convinced of that.

I couldn't care less about the 2 hrs it took him to die.. What pisses me off is the fact he was on death row for 23yrs...sentence should have been carried out a long time ago

I don't really care how long the piece of shite suffered, but for the life of me I can't understand how any of you so called small government conservatives can support state run executions.
These are the same people that can't run a dmv for fricks sake.

OP: POS was as worthless as a GDCK in a Neo-Natal ICU. Too bad purposefully executing this type of execution is constitutionally prohibited. I'd vote for that Constitutional Amendment.

"Small government conservatives" love giving the government ultimate power almost as much as they love accusing liberals of being "overly emotional" while the small government conservatives are wishing this "piece of shite" suffered more because apparently appeals to vengeance and rage aren't appeals to emotion.
