What likely happens is that a fresh schism emerges in the Dem caucus to where the AOC types attempt to seize power from the other Pelosi / Hoyer / Clyburn types.
It won’t kill the party but it will take it far enough left that they will have trouble contesting another presidential election barring major policy changes or a Watergate-style scandal.
