Would this bill magically keep guns out of criminals hands and from crossing state lines?

Would help if you know the neighbors kid is a nut and the family owns a arsenal, you wouldn't have to worry about the parents no thinking little Lanza was capable of carrying out shooting up a elementary school, and could get the guns out of the house before the kid or anyone else acted on it.

The police almost anywhere you go have no desire to add this to their long list of task.
Taking away peoples guns legally or not is a dangerous damn job.

Seriously.

Imagine your Lieutenant tells you that today you're going to go collect the firearms from someone was deemed "a risk to themselves or others"

frick that noise, I'm sick that day.

Now I know everyone is thinking these orders won't be enforced by a loan officer or two, but rather by an entire swat team...except until the sheer number of these things overwhelms their system to the point that the only possible way to enforce them is to send out a single unit. I predict that eventually will lead to some cops getting shot.

Majority if not all mass shootings occur in gun free zones.

IF someone is "deemed risk to themselves or others" they should be directly committed to a metal health institute. At which case they would not have access to fire arms.

by the same measure, then they should have their drivers license revoked, and car impounded, and their voting ability removed. If they are mentally unsafe, then they should have other dangerous abilities removed

Seems common sense. Not sure why this is anti gun rights.

Ah...governmental action...the bastion of common sense..

Very sad what the liberal locusts have done to that state.

It would be much more effective to put the crazy person in a hospital where they cannot hurt themselves or anyone else. But to do this requires some due process and that is not their goal.

If they take his guns, he can get another. If he is in a padded room he cannot.

Now: who's to say/define going forward who is "at risk" in Colorado? How do we know this won't be abused?

It will be abused. Because to the progressive filth, anyone who has firearms is "it risk" for becoming a mass shooter.

The very mindset that someone would want to possess multiple firearms is a sign of mental illness and evidence that they should not be allowed to purchase or own firearms. ~ So sayth the liberal Lords.

I think that anyone who supports Leftist policies is a nut because the American Left are inherently insane and violent....

Should I be a nosy neighbor and start contacting the authorities about any of my neighbors who act the slightest bit odd and have a Bernie sticker on their Prius?

What kind of idiot believes this will stop mass shootings?

The same kind of idiot who thinks this will protect people from mass shootings, thinks this is common sense, and doesn't understand that it blatantly violates 3 or 4 rights in the Bill of Rights.

I can remember growing up in Golden in the 70s the adults talking about all the people from California were ruining Colorado.

Did you see where the gun toting white guy shot a black man in the head, and killed him over a parking place at Cracker Barrel? This law would help with getting guns out of the hands of trash like this.

Yeah, it will also help getting the guns out of the hands of the hard working, law-abiding citizen, who has never harmed a soul, but is going through a nasty divorce with the whore who has been fricking the neighbor for the last two years.

So you're saying you need a gun in case that your x-wife attacks you? I don't get it. I or anyone I know have never needed a gun to get myself out of a bad situation. I do worry when I walk into somewhere and a guy in cowboy boots, Trump shirt, and cowboy hat has a gun on him thinking he is John Wayne, that is who I worry about.
