Probably not significantly.

A state's GDP does not take into account its "Wall of Debt," as is the case with CA.

without the EC, Trump would have received SIGNIFICANTLY more votes in CA

a GOP presidential vote in Cali is a wasted vote under the EC

this is a big issue with DEMs and their whole "WE GET MORE TOTAL VOTES" argument (they use it for Congress, too). they are inefficient with how they've structured their voting blocs within our election systems. the DEMs "Waste" a ton of votes which makes their "mandate" bullshite hilarious

I'd venture to say California's economy is in much better shape than those run into the ground by Booby Swindal, Brownback, and Scott "Derp" Walker.

Here is the deal. Trump can negotiate it. We give the leftist California and maybe even Oregon and Washington. But all of the liberals, leftists, sjw's, etc. have to agree to move there. If they don't we deport them there. Then we can build the wall around it. It's like giving the Palestinians their own homeland.

I have a friend in San Diego, an active member in the GOP out there & he said everyone knows it's hopeless when it comes to conservatives winning. As a result, he said most party members just stay home, especially when it comes to national elections. And he confirmed what is widely known, his organization, through contacts in ICE, that the numbers of illegals possessing voting cards & voting is in the hundreds of thousands & growing.

It's because the majority of the population lives on the coasts.

Give them P. Rico also. But they have to pay their own damn bills and no more welfare from the states. And all of those that have migrated to Florida have to go back.

Indeed. Just imagine how much faster their debt would be growing without that tech boom?

And many of those firms are picking up and moving to Texas. LINK.

yeah Silicon Valley is the thing keeping the American economy on top, so it's hard to make that point

but i'd love to see CA broken down into NorCal and SoCal and the long-term outlook

SoCal has a higher population, probably a higher GDP, but i will bet a lot a significantly lower PCGDP and significantly higher public debtload

California is still a major part of the union even if some cities are very different than you. One is not "better" than another.

I look at it like this. If you remove Los Angeles County, and the four counties of New York City (Kings, Queens, New York, Bronx), they represent, collectively, 0.1% of the entire United States.

The rest of the country (99.9%), lumped together a whole, gave Trump a majority of the popular vote.

This one fact, on it's on standing, demonstrates why the framers of our constitutional form of government, were incredible men who saw into the future and developed a system to prevent the major population centers from overwhelming the will of the less populated.
