It is crazy to think how different California is from the rest of the nation. This article does a good job of highlighting some of the challenges Republicans face out there.

Californication

quote:

In recent years, California has been turning into what amounts to a one-party state. Between 2008 and 2016, the number of Californian's who registered as Democrats climbed by 1.1 million, while the number of registered Republicans dropped by almost 400,000.

Trump spent zero time there. He would have cut that down if he would have campaigned there. Bandit is correct, Repubs stay home bc they know its a blue state.

These would be the deciders of our election if we went by popular vote. People that couldn't be more different than the rest of the country.

Give California back to Mexico and that wouldn't upset me.

So if you exclude Cali she loses popular vote for all other states by 1mil plus. Interesting. Have not heard it stated that way on msm programs.

I look at this another way. Trump successfully marginalized California whereas they were unsuccessful in their attempt to dominate the rest of the nation with their disproportionate number of electoral votes.

This is a roadmap for future GOP campaigns.

The political system has a way of bring things back in balance. California will not always be such an outlier.

And if there wasn't a thing called the electoral college, this state would have even more sway over American politics.

Well that includes all the illegal immigrants that voted, so probably need to knock that down about 2 million

And the 64 dollar question is: how many of those votes were cast by illegal immigrants? The recount in Michigan has revealed a lack of voting integrity. I wonder what an objective recount/audit of voting in California would reveal?

How many times has California been bailed out by DC?

Let them form an island nation with whatever fricked up democrat President they want. Don't call us when you are selling children to eat, all Venezuela-like.

I'd be interested in seeing how many GOP residents of California have left the state over the last ten years.

I'd love to know how many of those votes were cast by illegals.

we need to make sure that CA doesn't expect the federal government to bail out its public pensions

Article from the conservative LA Times

also, while i enjoy the hell out of my time in SoCal, it's a sinking ship. it's a dessert that's propped up by abusing old water deals. that will change and the population centers of CA will be completely fricked
