Are you blaming Benghazi on the military?

My goodness, take a deep breath.

You mentioned you would rather see the Benghazi comparison, I simply stated this story has more in common with the IRS scandal.

I'm not stating no comparison can be made to the Benghazi story.

The IRS scandal was covered. It may not have destroyed the president, but that's another discussion. The bridgegate coverage will die down in a week or so like every story eventually does.

Shhh, they're having fun.

Pay no mind to the fact that the sample time frame for the Christie scandal was taken immediately after the story broke, while the sample time frame for the IRS scandal was taken 2 months after it broke.

Yeah, I noticed that too. The media likes fresh news stories. They're not going to cover something endlessly. Benghazi and the IRS scandal were both big news stories, Benghazi for months.

Have you ever thought if there would be some resolve or closure to the IRS scandal it would not be talked about so much?

If the progressives were targeted by the IRS, under the Bush admin and it went unanswered for such a long time after wards, don't you think the progressives would be upset?

If Christie plead the fifth or appointed anyone other than an objective IG or special prosecutor, to investigate the matter. Progressives would want Christie crucified on Friday at 3PM.

Here is a link.

In less than 24 hours, the big three networks have devoted 17 times more coverage to a traffic scandal involving Chris Christie than they’ve allowed in the last six months to Barack Obama’s Internal Revenue Service controversy.

In less than 48 hours, ABC, CBS and NBC deluged viewers with coverage of Chris Christie's traffic jam scandal, devoting a staggering 88 minutes to the story. In comparison, these same news outlets over the last six months have allowed a scant two minutes for the latest on Barack Obama's Internal Revenue Service scandal. The disparity in less than two days is 44-to-one.
The media are trying to choose the next president of the USA. Why not. They chose the last one.

can anyone tell me the point of continually harping about the bias of cable news networks?

Unfortunately there are too many fools that will deny it and we have our very own examples of them on here to point to in a heartbeat.

Good point.

Luckily this isn't about Cable news.

ABC, NBC, and CBS is what's discussed in this comparison.

wow, way to nitpick. as if the networks are some bastion of journalistic integrity and creativity in comparison to Fox, MSNBC, et. al.

Not trying to nitpick.

Simply stating that the Networks have reach the Cable channels do not. Most of this audience was built up over the decades when the media was largely straight forward.

Since the advent and popularity of Cable news, the Networks have attempted to reproduce their platform(often opinion). The networks bias has become more pronounced and their audience is slowly erroding.

In spite of these realities, many people(mostly older) still view the Networks as the "old guard" and believable. This is why a distinction should be made.

I do think most people take your view of news, that the line is now blur and all parties have their biases.

The network news organizations unofficially take their cues from the NYT and have done so for decades.

Compare the Christie scandal coverage from March 2014 to September 2014 to the IRS scandal coverage from July 2013 to January 2014, and then get back to me.

This is as apples to oranges as you can get, and y'all are making fools of yourselves.

I would respond but I can't translate stupidity.
