Democrats are dumbfounded that they worked so hard to rig the vote that the only obvious reason Trump won is because he cheated. That about sums it up.

Nothing to worry about so it's okay to stop making threads to show you're nervous.

One of the people behind the recount effort posted his reasons here.

It seems like the team has been testing voting machines for years and considers them to be very vulnerable to sabotage. They are picking the counties that are the most statistically aberrant in an effort to see if there is any evidence of this one way or the other.

IMO, the biggest corruption with voting machines is the behind the scenes corruption involving the the people in government who pick which company's machines to buy.

Several counties in Wisconsin reported more votes for Trump than registered voters in the county. So citizens are used the rules of the State to enact a recount.

Trump now claims that millions of illegals voted.

therefore a thorough investigation of the voting process is in order.

Jill Stein thinks the polls were accurate and that Russia hacked the election, "somehow".

Michigan is still too close to call. I have no idea why.

Trump has been drawn into the recount consideration by his ego. He now says he would have won the popular vote were it not for the millions of illegals who voted.
Inquiring minds want to know how he came up with this.
Surely there is a way to analyze the Latino names and meet with the voters and see their documentation.

Here is one person's opinion that might be credible:
quote:

The Democrats’ real strategy in launching recounts By Richard Baehr The recount in Wisconsin, and the coming ones in Michigan and Pennsylvania will not change the outcomes in any of the states. No recount ever changes thousands of votes. I do not think that is the purpose.

The recounts, if done by hand, which can be demanded, may take longer than the last day for completing the official counts in a state and directing Electoral College voters. If all 3 states miss the deadline, Trump is at 260, Hillary at 232. No one hits 270.

Then this goes to Congress, where the House voting 1 vote per state elects Trump, and Senate selects Pence. This would be first time this happened since 1824, but in that case, John Quincy Adams won in the House, though he had fewer electoral college votes than Andrew Jackson.

If this goes to the US House and Senate, and the result is the same as result from the Electoral College without the recounts, why do it? The answer is to make Trump seem even more illegitimate, that he did not win the popular vote (he lost by over 2.1 million), he did not win the Electoral College (did not reach 270), and was elected by being inserted into the presidency by members of his own party in Congress.

In every state that I am aware of, voting records can be gotten through the local elections office. It won't tell you who they voted for, but will indicate whether they voted or not.

However, any group that starts such a massive hunt for illegal aliens on voter registration lists is going to get a huge backlash for harrassing legit voters for having hispanic names.

IF this is true, they are really grasping for straws. No one is going to care if the recounts take too long and Congress has to basically affirm the initial counts. This is actually more likely to have opposite of the intended effect - I'm even more disgusted by the democratic party than I was before they wanted recounts.
