The 2020 election will be a landslide. Either Trump dominates the Dem challenger or a Dem dominates Trump.

I have a hard time finding a middle ground for Trump over the next 4 years. If he does what he says he'll do, he wins going away. If he can't get out of the mud and runs into issues getting shite through congress, I don't believe America will give him a pass and the experiment will be over.

Barring a health issue or major scandal, he will absolutely run again. You don't give up the second term of your Presidency.

The Dems are too commie for even Huntsman.

depends on how he does. on how much he works to fulfill his campaign promises.

Well, if his campaign has shown us anything it's how hard of a worker he is.

Honestly, Huntsman would be the perfect candidate for them to run against Trump. He's the polar opposite of him and highly competent. Really, name one better that they could possibly run against him in 2020?

This. He wants a legacy of greatness. Talk about his ego as much as you like, but it will drive him to MAGA.

Assuming he runs for a second term. He may not, considering age.

Not a slight, just noting he's the oldest elected president, if memory serves.

They will get someone like Rand Paul, John Huntsman, or Mitt Romney to run under their ticket.

While I love Rand, Them running Rand in the scenario you posted doesn't make a lick of sense

Sweaty Teddy posed a major challenge to Jimmy Carter in '80.

There is no way to know with this man. I'm glad he beat HRC but I still have reservations about him. He may be as great a president as we ever had or he may be a shitshow of cosmic proportions and not survive impeachment. No one KNOWS!

This thread is like an offseason football thread, an exercise in showing one's bias, nothing more.

might want to let him get started first

The GOP made some inroads with Hispanics in this election. Putting someone like Governors Susana Martinez of New Mexico or especially Brian Sandoval of Nevada into the mix might make some major headway.

He won't even need to run. He'll right this ship in 3 years and hand this thing off to Pence, w Don Jr as his VP. Under budget/ahead of schedule.

Hell no, he runs up the score on every opposition he has had.

He will win by a bigger margin than this time. I bet he holds all the states he won this week and adds Minnesota and New Hampshire.

Trump has a short leash, because he was elected via a wave of #neverhillary sentiment.

If he screws up, he'll be out of here faster than a Babe Ruth homerun shot. Under those circumstances, he'd be challenged, and he'd be beaten.

If he does a passable or good job, and wants to run as a 74y/o, no one will oppose him.

This. He'll be a one term president. I don't think he wants to serve two.
