Therein lies the real difference. The Press and MSM narrative. Obama's was about 90% positive and pro-Dem. Trump's about 90% negative and anti-GOP. Literally!

E.g., Giffords was shot by a nut.
He had nothing whatsoever to do with Republicans or the GOP. However that didn't fit the narrative. So the Press did its damnedest to fictionalize him as some sort of disaffected Tea Party Republican Sarah Palin disciple. See the WashPo: The bogus claim that a map of crosshairs by Sarah Palin’s PAC incited Rep. Gabby Giffords’s shooting.

But because of the BS coverage, many out there now have a false memory of the Gifford's shooting being similar to Scalise's. The same is true of Obama's misstatements, and aggression toward critical press.

The Republicans were far worse. Throw in the fact that the economy was in a free fall their obstructionism was downright treasonous.

Could have had a ton more high speed rail by now, plus a lot of other infrastructure upgrades. But Repubs decided it was more important to oppose everything Obama proposed.

Say it with me.

Super. Majority (2008).

The Republicans did not obstruct. The American people repudiated the Democratic Party and their ideals in three successive elections (2010-2012-2014). Win in the arena of ideas and you could have had what you wanted.

I know how I feel just trying to see if someone can seriously explain how reps acted worse. Only one or two have even tried to say reps were worse. Which is crazy considering all the hate Dems give reps right now and that they honestly can't see how fricking crazy they seem to me.

But I know I only have a opinion so wanted to hear others.

That cool?

i was 18 in 1992, the year Clinton was elected.
I never thought one side could hate another as much as the right hated Clinton.
Along came W and I thought the same thing by the left.
After Obama I realized we in a hate free-for-all with possibly no end.

I made the comment on here a few weeks ago that it would be nice to have a leader to unite us instead of a Twitter troll. A few posters replied that they knew Trump wasn't going to be a uniter. That's why they voted for him, so he could give the democratic party and Obama a big "F You."

I think there is a lot of truth in that. which is sad

I do remember some nastiness but not to the level it has been with Trump. And if we're being honest, if half of the stuff that is being done and said about Trump happened to Obama then the media would have cried racism. I remember it being nasty after bush v. Gore but again, nowhere near this level.

The thing is, a picture was being portrayed that this is what the Tea Party was.

Wasn't a Republican judge killed the same day Giffords was shot?

It was bad for Obama, but it was nowhere near the outright hysteria that is going on now.
Riots, politically motivated shootings, comedians making jokes. I'd bet you would be hard pressed to find a comedian doing any more than a light hearted jab at Obama, much less call him what Colbert called Trump.
Anybody who disagreed with Obama was quickly called a racist and dismissed.

They were pretty negative, but the progressives have been FAR AND AWAY the worse of the two.

And killed a Republican judge.

Every time a filthy Prog brings up Giffords, they need to be reminded of this. I know it won't matter bc they are mentally ill, but you can sway others.

I would say that was a 50-50 proposal. I hated his politics and thought his demeanor was petulant and narcissistic. But a lot of people just hated the man.

Using your logic, do you think the left is carrying on about Trump because of his policies, or because they just don't like him?
