You whacked my sig/av with my post. How is anyone going to know it's me without the baby care bear?

Someone asked in a deleted post what method of dating they used and I believe it has to do with examining the mutations and assuming a certain rate of mutation with a margin for error. # of mutations x rate = time.

I've posted 2 separate comments in this thread and both have been erased when neither were comments that merited this action. Has the definition of what is permissible been broadened or are Christians no longer allowed to post in these type threads?

Those were DELETED!!!

Now, can someone explain what the implications of this finding are?

I find it fascinating just based on the science of determining it. But, I have no real understanding of its reverberations.

I think scientists are going haywire with what this does for the theory of evolution and further explain where humans came from.

They might have interbred, swapping DNA. Scientists hope that further studies of extremely ancient human DNA will clarify the mystery.

I bet a bunch of Denisovans made the trip across the tracks to get a fix for the Neanderthal fever...and vice versa..imagine the money you could have made marketing Denisovan porn to Neanderthals and vice bersa...nothing sales like taboo shite and you know that older members of both species were disgusted (but secretly thrilled) at the thought of having relations with someone from the other side.....

Sounds like the oldest human DNA is now Spain instead of Africa.

Other than confirming that we don't have much of a fossil or DNA record I don't think it does that much to change the fundamental nature of evolution or where the first humans came from.

The 'Out of Africa' theory is getting weaker with each new discovery.

The oldest hominid is about 4 million years old, lots of time to get to Spain or Asia from Africa in 3.6 million years.

You mean until someone discovers an older bone or they change their theories again right?

That's the nature of science. You have to keep looking for more and more answers.
