I'm not a survivalist, I'm not paranoid, and I'm not an exaggerator but I am a lover of history and I can't help but really believe we, either as a society or as Americans, are witnessing what historians will someday debate is the beginning of what became an event of such magnitude that we will have little to compare its importance or impact to. With the political and racial division in America today, combined with a president whose potential is to either be a madman or the best leader we've ever had, along with these leaks coming out of the CIA, I really believe we are entering an era that nobody can predict given the unprecedented nature of what's going on.
I'm talking about war involving the USA, China, Russia, and Iran, political shake-ups in terms of complete dismantling of major parties, and - god forbid - possible assassinations. The 1960's come to mind but only in terms of uncertainty. I think the potential for this to end up much worse than that time is there. We as a society need to be careful. We are all human and need to remember what we all have in common rather than what we are divided on.
Are we so preoccupied with social media and memes that we are failing to realize the monumental events happening during our time, right under our nose?

Read "The Fourth Turning". I guarantee you Trump and Bannon have.

It's essentially all line up exactly as it always has. We are entering a crisis period that could go either way.

I think so

9/11 was staged by the CIA and foregin intelligence agencies

I wouldn't put it past the CIA/foreign intelligence to stage something else to try and change the direction

I'll believe it when I see it. Everyone always thinks they're living in unprecedented times.

Unfortunately I don't think that's debatable anymore.

For real.... The political machine is consuming the consciousness of many Americans. Let it go. Go fishing.

Why people cling to this time period is beyond me.

Relax. Everything will be fine.

The answer to your last question is no, not all of us. Anyone who didn't recognize the last election being something of enormous magnitude isn't awake.

What happens next is open to debate and interpretation, but my take is the election was just the beginning. And it can go either way. The realist in me says it's already too late, the optimist says Trump is indeed a time traveler of sorts. Of sorts. He seems to have the instinct and ability to pull rabbits out of hats.

If this really is about returning some power to the people, we are in for some extremely interesting times.

To me both Hillary and Obama's persona right now seem to be saying, not now, but it's inevitable later. It, whatever it is, has been delayed.

All of this is predicated on the deep state actually existing. If not deep state, than permanent government. That does exist, we just don't know how corrupt it is or isn't.

And his paths shall be many, and who shall know his name, for he shall be born among us many times, in many guises, as he has been and ever will be, time without end. His coming shall be like the sharp edge of the plow, turning our lives in furrows from out of the places where we live in silence. The breaker of bonds; the forger of chains. The maker of futures; the unshaper of destiny.

We are entering a changing of the guard so to speak. Every 50 years or so this happens as the new generations seize power from the old and there is a culture struggle for the new norm. It happens within country and globally.

Right now there are 3 main struggles going on.

1. Progressivism vs Alt Right Conservatism - this is different than your classical liberal/conservative fight. More of a culture war between PC culture and the more classical American attitudes. Progressives are not liberals because they believe in silencing opposition and controlling all means of a narrative. They are more left wing fascists. Alt Right conservatives aren't traditional conservatives because they tend to be ok with big govt policy as long as it reinforces their cultural ideas. They also support nationalism and protectionist trade policy, a sharp change from free trade ideas of recent past.

2. The People vs The Establishment - one of the few things everyone agrees on, the elite in the media and the politicians and big business executives are out of control. The people with newfound access to information via the Internet are awakening, and seeking to put a check on the elites power. The elite are getting noticeably desperate and less quiet about their intentions. Of the 3 battles, this is the most dangerous one to our country if history is any indicator.

3. Globalists vs Nationalist - this is the worldwide struggle going on now. This one is also dangerous as it's the one that could spark a major world conflict. The global elite seek to tear down nation sovereignty and democracy in favor of a new world order and their own seat at the table. Nationalist movements seek to do what's best for each individual country and stop the flow of 3rd world people into the civilized world.

Well, I wouldn't put the idea of starting a war to deflect our attention. It's been done before.

Could be....the Cubs won the world series, the Falcons damn near won the super bowl and Tennessee turned the corner....oh wait,.....never mind...

I think we are definitely living in interesting times....the bill for western civilization mis-treating every group of people who are white, christian males with family connections and wealth is going to come due someday....and that butchers bill is not going to small....

Her best days can still be realized if we avoid the temptation to turn to globalism to solve that which ails and this is what DJT must protect the USA from. Not isolationism, but returning this nation to her rightful sovereignty and if able nations around the globe will benefit.

Its rarely unprecedented. People just don't study history. We repeat the same mistakes over and over. For example the US will eventually go the way of the Roman Empire due to the faults of human nature.

I am not sure about the war part but do foresee a lot of political upheaval. I am most likely much older than you and, like you, have an interest in history. I had a feeling something like is happening would transpire, and spoke with friends about being on the right side of history.

If you like history, you may someday become interested in genealogy if you haven't already. If possible, speak with your grandparents and older family members about your family's history. Write it down. You may be glad you did.
