Are severly anti-gay people more likely to be gay?

It's a really disheartening situation, and one this board is very familiar with. los angeles tiger turned out to be gay. And this isn't isolated. I have a family member who's the same way. Virulently, almost radically anti-gay, and I've heard from several gay friends that, in private, he's come on to them.
It's a genuinely upsetting situation. These people aren't, by their nature, self loathing. They're almost without exception forced to behave the way that they do, and their passion on the topic comes from a desire to be unassailable.

I'm pretty sure the University of Georgia did a study about this, and the results showed that homophobic men were more likely to be sexually aroused by gay porn.

Who was this?

Not going to use his name. I don't have a problem with it, but I'm pretty sure admins would.
Also, everyone else, please don't use the name.

He is a gay conservative though, no?

See, this is bullshite. You brought it up in your op.

Not that I'm aware of. Though it wouldn't shock me.

If you feel this way, you probably shouldn't have brought this person up. To be fair, I think that person's feelings towards homosexuality would be better understood if you were familiar with his/her religious beliefs... He/she wasn't homophobic, and surely did not hate homosexuals (not that you said he/she did).

The hallmarks of a shitty thread

Either him or the other LA poster that passed recently (RIP). Whichever one is open about the issue.

Just a throwaway line for effect in your OP.
Dont be dishonest.

But that's the point of the thread. That people behave how the feel that they need to in front of other people, and how they really feel in private. On one hand, I have extreme sympathy for them. On the other, I think they're cowards and may border on evil. They try to force other, braver people into the situation they're in.

I'm straight, happily married, and the father of 3 beautiful children.

Name added to OP, as an admin has used it now.

It's been my observation those who are the loudest about how perverted being a homosexual is are generally the ones the deepest in the closet with their own sexuality.
It's one of those weird things about the whole gay/anti gay movements.
Though you also see that with the deeply religious or conservative and their sexual tastes.
