IDGAF what he does to government agencies. I care about what he makesthem do to us and with our money.

As a lifelong government employee, I feel zero pity for these whiney bitches at the EPA.

Link. There's so much bullshite going around, but there is a lot of angst in the govie community in NOVA/DC, right now. It's one thing to talk about sheering off inefficiencies, but playing with these people's lives for the sake of political theater is a disgrace. Most of my friends up here are educated, honest, well-meaning people. They aren't perfect. They're just paying the mortgage, too.

They deserve to be treated with more respect than this. They care about their careers and the work they do as much as anyone.

If you have a link to this guy's account send it over. I'd love to tell him to hang in there.

Plenty of other sectors that are legit environmental concerns.

Plus, your favorite thing to hate about the EPA is considered "clean air"....GHG

Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant.
It is necessary part of life on earth. We would not have carbon based lifeforms without it.

All carbon released from carbon based fuels used to be in our atmosphere. Back in a time when the diversity of life was much greater than it is currently.

Unlike you I don't fear Global Warming. I embrace it. We have millions upon millions of acres of land that will become arable if the earth would warm 5 degrees.
More than triple what we currently have that is arable. To sustain the human population growth we actually need global warming to be able to grow enough food.

If the Democrats want to postpone the EPA nominee getting confirmed, true or not, I'd say this is a perfectly acceptable step to take. Hold the entire EPA hostage until the new boss gets confirmed. What do ya'll think?

Millions of acres of currently arable land in Africa alone would become part of the desert, and nearly a fourth of the world's current population would find themselves underwater.

Africa doesn't produce much food now.

The US produces much more food than that whole continent.

The US's arable land will increase by up to 67% just from a 2 degree increase in temperature.

Canada's will double and so will Russia's.

The people who live on coasts even if your projection was true will just move to newer beach front property.

There is no scenario where global warming is bad for the US.
We should not even worry about it since we live in the promised land and will benefit in every way.

Ideology shouldn't belong in the EPA.

I disagree completely. People have opinions, and they love them. There are no people out there without an agenda of some sort. The agenda of the conservative is to keep government out of the way of the people unless absolutely necessary and even then in a limited fashion. This is absolutely how I think the EPA should operate.

I wish the EPA was full of Ron Swansons

If the earth's temperature went up 100 degrees, we'd all die.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but it's a privilege to work at the pleasure of taxpayers. At least IMO. I know everyone doesn't see it that way, and I know a lot of guys who would be crushed if they lost their military /gov jobs. I know a few who have been crushed losing their private sector jobs too. It's part of life. I truly don't want people in government to suffer through downsizing and hiring freezes. I believe that we have to break a few eggs to make the omelet, except this time they will be government eggs and not civilian.

Where was this attitude within the EPA when their policies were shutting down businesses in the coal industry, paper industry, and steel industry?

That's the problem you fricking idiot.

Well this is unusual.. someone admitting climate change is real and man-made made and "embracing it"..

I'm fully on board with climate control but we aren't there yet.

They don't "deserve" anything that involves the public fisc. It's a job, and unless they are at the top of the organizational chart, they have a boss and they by God better to what that boss says and adhere to the rules of his organization if they want to be among the people to keep their job when the cuts start coming.
