For months since the election the only topic on the mainstream media (MSM) news outlets has been that President Trump somehow stole the election from Hillary Clinton by working in collusion with Russia.

This fallacious argument is played around the clock by the MSM and discussed repeatedly ad nauseam by Democrats every chance they get.

On Wednesday the headline of the Drudge Report was that Democrats felt they were finally at the place where they could poll test their efforts to impeach President Trump. Democrats can’t do anything without a poll.

The Drudge Report’s headline linked to a report from McClatchy’s DC Bureau that discussed the Democratic Party’s plans to impeach Trump and their efforts to first poll test this action with voters.

In a significant development, party operatives say they expect Democrats to poll-test the public’s views on impeachment, trying to acquire hard data about an issue that until now has not been seriously analyzed. Other strategists say that candidates and party organizations will begin conducting focus groups on the question.

The results of their polling must have been God awful shocking for the Democrats and their liberal MSM because today in every way the Democrats are retreating from impeaching Trump.

For example, three of the biggest far left publications posting fake news stories about President Trump to justify his impeachment are now backing off:

1. The New York Times is reporting that “Democratic Leaders Try to Slow Calls to Impeach Trump“.

2. CNBC reports “Chances of Trump impeachment are low, says Nomura“.

3. The Washington Post reports “Considering Impeachment? Slow Down”

Sounds like their "finger in the wind" came back with shite on it.

I'm sure everyone got a little over excited when the idea came up. But yeah, they need to have evidence before they try and do something like impeach him.

There were very few calling for impeachment. All of this "backtrack" talk is non-sense. Fake news.

Even Nancy Pelosi was cautioning against pushing for impeachment almost immediately.

This board was littered with impeachment threads only two short days ago. Now only very few were calling for it? The Dems blew their load right out the gate.

Please show me a list of all the democrats in congress who were publicly asking for impeachment. I'll give you a freebie to get started with:

1. Al Green

Who else you got?

The article was about Democrats, not just democrats in congress, and the MSM. Try again.

Al Green and Maxine Waters are the only two I know about that have publicly called for impeachment. I've seen it written about in a few media outlets, but can't recall any legitimate ones outright calling for it. I'm sure Salon or DailyKos or some other extreme left has.

It looks like what you're saying is that it was liberal media who is backtracking, not "dems." And certainly not Dems in Congress.

Dems in congress have been surprisingly cautious about mentioning impeachment - but it's no surprise that fact is masked with the "backtrack" bullshite that's being spewed on this forum.

Who could've seen this coming? Anti-establishment Trump wins and then polling finds that the establishment impeaching him would be unpopular. Also, a lot of this has to do with the SC and rats scurrying for cover.

I think the actual thing that scares them is giving Pence almost 4 years to rehabilitate the image of the party.

I think 100% of the folks clamoring for his impeachment still want him impeached, just maybe 2 years from now.

The article plainly states "democrats" and the "MSM." Nowhere in this thread did I mention democrats in congress. In fact, my first post mentioned threads in this board. Unless you think there are some democratic congressmen posting threads in this board I'm not sure why you read my post to mean democrats in congress. Classic straw man.

Not to talk shite on them, but I am actually praising them for listening to just about every legal expert out there (most of whom are liberal) saying, "the dude committed no crime, you can't impeach a guy because you simply don't like him"(paraphrasing, of course.)

Who else believes the entire DC establishment is scared shitless of what Mueller may find with regards to Russians, ME, etc?
