Any level headed person who doesn't have orgasms at the thought of Trump getting impeached could see that this would happen.

Been following closely. Don't recall broad calls for impeachment. Haven't noted any concerted effort to backtrack.

The DNC is a pretty dysfunctional organization but I guess even they have their shite together enough to poll-test messaging on an issue as powerful and divisive as impeachment. Most of those fossils were around to see it sour on the GOP 20 years ago.

Well this didn't take long:

CNN Keeps A Running List Of Dems Who Support and Discussed Impeachment

That's a long list of reps...

Would love to read the report from the study done that threw cold water on the impeachment idea.

Hope Trump gets the Russians to hack the Dems again so we can see the report!!

For sure. The WH definitely is. They've been pretty tight lipped since it was announced, especially Trump.

27 Dems/Progs in leadership roles along with their quotes supporting impeachment.

I wonder how many others went on other news stations and did the same.

Yet it is only a few.....supposedly....

Like I said in my thread yesterday....

What am I missing?!?

Maybe read the article you posted. It's clearly referencing the Democrats congressional desire to impeach Trump, which isn't backed by any facts. It then uses the MSM to suggest the party as a whole is backtracking, which isn't true. Here, let me help you:

quote:

On Wednesday the headline of the Drudge Report was that Democrats felt they were finally at the place where they could poll test their efforts to impeach President Trump. Democrats can’t do anything without a poll.

The Drudge Report’s headline linked to a report from McClatchy’s DC Bureau that discussed the Democratic Party’s plans to impeach Trump and their efforts to first poll test this action with voters.

In a significant development, party operatives say they expect Democrats to poll-test the public’s views on impeachment, trying to acquire hard data about an issue that until now has not been seriously analyzed. Other strategists say that candidates and party organizations will begin conducting focus groups on the question.

For clarity, I should inform you that the general public nor MSM is capable of impeachment. Only Congress can do that...

So again, who was actively pushing for impeachment that is now backtracking?

TIA.

26 Reps who mentioned "the possibility of impeachment if xyz prove true" equals broad calls? Because several GOP reps and a couple of its highest profile Senators did the same.

A lot of them only mentioned impeachment, and only if certain things were proven true. I wouldn't call that supporting it...yet.

I am stating the following:

1. There has not been an active push for impeachment to this point from many Democrats in Congress.

2. Therefore, there can not be any huge "backtracking" as has been claimed on this board.

3. In fact, the opposite is true - as mega liberals such as Nancy Pelosi have cautioned against pushing for impeachment at this stage from the very beginning.

Fake news.

Oh I'm looking up the repubs too.

I'm no fan of Trump, I'm just laughing at the obvious talking point that went awry. The OP is being mocked for no reason.

Make no mistake, "impeachment" was floated out there for a reason and parroted by many in leadership for a reason, which was the point of the OP.

But hey, if you all want to convince us this didn't happen or isn't happen, go right ahead. Like I said yesterday, you're just going to get that a-hole elected again.

I don't believe it was parroted by anyone in leadership in either party. Leadership is limited to a few specific positions. Not just Senior members with plum committee chairmanships.

Then let's Akin the list of almost 30 I provided and force them to answer to their statements then. Had 27 Rs done something like this to Obama, you and your ilk, along with the media, would sing a MUCH different tune.

Well when you consider Democrats are never responsible for their actions, of course not. Duh.

But that running list CNN keeps...

Who are they?

I'm still waiting on a list of members who were actively pushing for impeachment. I can think of less than 5 who were vocally pushing for impeachment at this stage. There have been numerous "LOL DEMS BACKTRACKING" threads over the last 24 hours.

List them. I'll wait.

Not the ones who have stated "If this happened..." but the ones who were actively pushing for impeachment.

Go on...
