Tales of the Cocktail, worth it to buy tickets?

Looks like the tasting room bracelets only come with $100 ticket purchase. Are the seminars and Promotion tickets worth the price? I have never been to Tales but it always seems like a good time, what is the best strategy for the week?

The seminars and such are too industry focused for my interest. I've been couple three times but got comped tickets. Cool event but I wouldn't drop $100 bones on it.

Its a great event. If you like cocktails there will be at least 2 or 3 seminars that should pique your interest.

Anything by Wayne Curtis, Phil Greene, wondrich or Charlotte will be a good place to start

Eta: the Wondrich and Beachbum seminar on world war ii and drinking will probably be awesome. Id go to that.

Agree. More of an industry festival but would like to see it geared toward the consumer. Don't forget to grow a ridiculous mustache, wear a fedora, and prepare to discuss your favorite type of juniper berry...

As for another way to enjoy spirits, almost every night (at least in 2012 and 2013) Jameson was passing out free shots at the Erin Rose and free high life's...

There are lots of great events associated with Tales. Pick one that looks good to you and do it.

It is an industry festival. They are very clear that they gear the event to bartenders, brands, and others in the cocktail industry. Its not exclusive to folks in the industry, but it is most certainly a good time.

Yes it is. I've met folks in the industry all over the country who have been or have heard such good things that they're planning a trip. It's a pretty good event.

I just hang around and talk to the bartenders in town. After shooting the shite, I've gotten several tickets for free. They are usually too tired to make all of them.
