Thanks to the poster who alerted me 3.3 years ago on the twenty cent stock when AA was bankrupt. Although I didn't hold on to all of my initial purchases, it was enough to help build two orphanages in Honduras.

If my math serves me correct, you turned $10k into a little over $100k in 3 years. Fine work my friend. Opportunities like this don't come around very often so kudos to you for taking advantage and trusting your gut rather than trusting someone else's.

I bought at .20 and again at 1.10ish and twice again a few months later around .40.

Each stock became worth about .6 stocks in the reorganized AA. Rumor that we still could get more one day (.7). AA trading at $47.

i ended up with a little over 1.1 million from my two purchases (about $15 grand) followed by two mire purchases later in the year at about 10 grand.

But money not earned is money that should be donated. I try to spend less than $20 a week on food. I have less thAn 5 grand in my name today because I learned that money is a heavy weight that prevents you from flying.

Im sorry but this just isnt smart.

So you play very speculative stocks with nearly all of your savings?

Was American speculative? Perhaps. At the same time, and this was part of my rationale behind the purchases, would the USA allow an airline involved in 911 that is named American go under? During the Obama admin?

You're either right or wrong. You can be wrong on what is supposedly a very safe investment.

Anyway, it was a fun ride. Link in op to original thread 3.3 y ago.

Click the original link in op, a thread 3.3 years ago where I was mocked and chided for going all in with American.

Red blooded right there.
