I have been thinking about selling my original photograph of the first game in Tiger Stadium. It is a huge 44"x9" pano taken by a famous local photographer, not just some snap shot from the game.

There really isn't any auction houses in BR area(other than junk dealers).

What would be my best means to sell this thing?

Can you mow a few lawns, or your wife take in a visitor or two?

Why selling? That's a nice piece. You should hand that thing down, or at least keep it in the family.

I have enjoyed it enough. I was a collector, but have moved on. Its one of my last pieces from my collection. Just like the guy who I bought it from said, it is a great piece, but has no sentimental value to me.

I could buy some great camera equipment with the money.

But you could mention that you have it. And see if you get anyone interested in talking about it.

No, because the person that will buy this probably doesn't post on TD, i.e. Todd Graves

I checked that, they are just a bunch of individual sellers in one building, like a flea market.

Do you need the money? If not....

If you want to give it a good home and do a good deed I'll take it for a school auction :-)

Who was the famous local photographer? If that was 1924 Fonville was a bit young at the time and I don't recall any other photographers.

Auction houses in New Orleans could be an option. They are more expensive compared to Ebay though.

You should make prints and sell them.

You can tell it's the end of the third quarter in that picture.

I think people showed up at end of games back then.

So in your opinion what is it worth, just for the sake of argument since you are not trying to sell it on here. Also have you contacted TAF to see if they are interested, additionally there are a few other people in this town that have a few bucks and are into LSU. Fwiw this would look really nice on the wall in our box.
