I have an Indian friend who is going to New Orleans for the very first time, next weekend. He and his wife are vegetarian. Are there any good vegetarian restaurants that I can recommend for them? They don't have to be strictly vegetarian, but should have a good veg selection. Both Indian and non-Indian restaurants will be fine.

I would like to include suggestions in all price ranges, as they will be eating several meals.

FYI, They will be staying at the JW Marriott.

Shaya!

Our Indian is embarrassingly bad.

Edit:

I think the gumbo shop has a veg gumbo.
I've done Gautreau's, Atchafalaya, Dominica, Coquette, hell a bunch of places with non meat folks no issues. It's the gluten free people that make me want to stab my eyes out. Lola's is a great option.

It is 2015. Make a reservation at any decent place and let them know about both parties being vegetarians. I'm sure they would love to cook something just for them.

Domenica has some great pizza options. Look at the menu.

ETA: The roasted cauliflower there is a meal in itself. The brussel sprouts salad is delicious, as well.

Do they eat seafood? Some veggies do.

Word. I can think of about 25 restaurants and specific dishes that are vegetarian without being hippie vegetarian. Shoot the roasted carrot pizza at domenica, the vegetable olate at Coquete, the french fries at La Petite, and so on and so forth. Shoot even the squash and goat cheese salad at Cochon will play.

Just recommend they go to good spots, and their food needs will be handled

It may be out of their way but Sneaky Pickle is mostly vegetarian. A lot of restaurants in the Marigny and Bywater have veggie options on menus.

As some other posters have said, most places will have options. Even Johnny Sanchez and La Casita has vegetarian tacos and dishes.
