Is that plastic trim around the wheel wells? That looks like shite. Do yourself a favor and buy a Tacoma.

You realize the Tacomas also have plastic around the wheel well, right?

I'd go with the GMC Canyon.

It's insane that only the GMC has an automatic transfer case.

Also, this shifter is straight out of a 90's Pontiac. Why can't GM get right on their interiors?

Black plastic trim looks like shite on trucks. Yes, the tacoma offers some basic model trim packages that show the back plastic trim but the higher end models dont. I havent seen a Colorado without the black plastic trim and I assumed they all came with it.

Meh, you could say that about any manufacturer.

Those wheel lip moldings are one of the most likely areas on a truck to get dinged or scratched

There's an advantage to having the black plastic if you use your truck as a truck

I'm not saying it looks better, but it does serve a purpose

A well equipped canyon seems to go for about 37-40k

Too much for a mid sized truck imo, though I know the full sized trucks are inflating quickly too

Frontier is best bang for your buck, IMO

I looked at the colorado before buying a Tacoma. Nice truck but too much $$. The 2016 Tacomas are a new design. Exterior is very similar to older Tacomas but a new Engine w/ better mileage and more torque/horsepower and Interior.

My last truck was a 2005 frontier I had for 8 years...loved that truck. Would have bought another one but they have yet to change anything on them. Went with an F150.

Nothing to add to this definitive post.

Chevy Colorado is a nice looking truck

They look sharp in every picture I have seen online. In person I wasn't impressed. It seemed a bit disproportionate.

I have an Xterra, which is essentially a Frontier wearing a backpack. Mechanically identical. Almost 51,000 pretty hard miles and not a single issue outside of normal wear items.

We have an xterra and frontier at work. I much prefer the xterra. Handles a lot better with shorter wheel base. It also rides higher. Tough as nails off-road.

Do either come with a manual? If not, Tacoma.

Nissan lets you have a stick for either engine option but GM will only sell you one if its attached to the 4-cylinder.

The Tacoma and Colorado are similarly priced.

Colorado/Canyon > Frontier

Factoid (very relevant):
Nissan Fontiers are assembled in Canton, Mississippi.

Avoid anything assembled in Mississippi. Number Fifty funk.
