Are you an electric or manual fan?

I've had both, and I can honestly say that my manual can opener out performs the electric that I've worked with. In fact, I've had the same can opener for so long now I couldn't tell you how old it is. Mine is a Swing-a-way that you can find for under ten bucks.

both.

I have a manual which I am insanely OCD about cleaning after using.... and I have an electric with a knife sharpener for guests.

I got this for my wife as a Christmas present a few years back and she swears it's one of the best items in her kitchen.

I'm not kidding.

I bought a Kuhn Rikon for about $10 on sale a couple years ago. It worked so well I went back and bought another one. They go for around $15 now.

I use a manual can opener. I don't even think we have an electric.

About the only thing canned that I have to open are tomatoes.

This. There are some crappy manuals out there. Swing a Way is the best.

Been using the same Kitchen Aid can opener that we got when we got married almost 9 years ago. Slips every now and then, but still opens cans like a charm!

Although I prefer fresh corn, corn, beans, olives, water chestnuts, tomato paste, tuna for sandwiches and coconut milk would be added to my list.

Purchase a Swing-a-Way and report back in a couple of decades.

Have exactly the same can opener. Not antique, but definitely has some age on it. Has never let me down.

I used to buy tomato paste in the small cans and would waste most of it. I now buy it in a tube and it stays in the refrigerator for when I need it.

I use a manual model from Pampered Chef, that and the vegetable peeler are the best things we have from Pampered Chef.
